Kinect freezes when starting Xbox Fitness

When starting Xbox Fitness the workout will start but in the Kinect window where I should see myself working out the image is frozen. This seems to be isolated to Xbox Fitness because if I then go to Home > Settings > Kinect Settings the Kinect is working
fine. Going back to the workout and the Kinect image is still frozen. The only fix I've found is to shut down the Xbox and unplug it for awhile which really kills my motivation to workout. Things I've tried:

Restarting the workout: Same image is still frozen in the Kinect window.

Starting a new App/Game then starting restarting Xbox Fitness: Same image is still frozen in the Kinect window.

Going into Kinect settings: Kinect sees me just fine and seems to be working. Restart Xbox Fitness and the same image is still frozen in the Kinect window.

Restarting the Xbox: Same image is still frozen in the Kinect window.

Shutting down and unplugging the Xbox: This will fix it until it happens again.

I workout about 5 times a week and run into this error about once a week.

Kinect problems

Had a problem with my Kinect this morning. Started OK then it turned off when starting Xbox Fitness, it came back on but didn't work properly and kept crashing Xbox Fitness. I also noticed the Xbox logo wasn't lit up on the Kinect. Then the Xbox stopped responding to my controller. I had to disconnect the power from the Xbox and reboot it. Then all was well again. Slightly concerning though

 

Kinect fitness game advice needed

Kinect Fitness is a Training Aid.... Not something to lose belly fat in any fast manner.. You just use Kinect Fitness, to help you with ideas, when you go to an actual Gym... Sometimes, it can be confronting, when you go to a Gym & you are training yourself...
You go there with a Fitness Plan & Kinect Fitness helps... Everybody knows you are in a Gym to get fit or lose weight, so don't be ashamed in trying a real workout...

Really sorry to hear this guys. This is what I've done and have not had any issues with the workout program since.

1. Go to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray

2. Click on Clear Persistent Storage 3 times

3. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

That should solve the issue with Xbox Fitness for you.

BTW, you should try the Tai Chi program. It's really good.

 

Thanks for the reply Onyx62is. After I cleared the persistent storage as you suggested I haven't seen the problem. Hopefully that fixed it!

I already have Tai Chi and have been liking it! I was surprised to see it in there while looking for another workout. I wish there was a better way to see new content and also to show only workouts that I own.
