Kinect Free Xbox One

So, Xbox announce they are coming out with a Kinect Free Xbox One for $100 less. What about the rest of us that was told the only way we could have a Xbox One was to buy this paper weight? Will they buy mine back? What about at least an apology? I
for one wished I would have waited and will change my trend by never buying another Microsoft console on launch date. This whole pre-post launch has been a fiasco. From extending games for the 360 after the fact, to no producing a single "new" game with lasting
power as of yet (Titanfall, whatever), to now not having to buy a connect. I should have kept playing my 360.

Well I really do wish that they sold it w/o kinect for day one release, because I never even hooked my kinect up. Actually I left it in the box Down in my basement and it was ruined do to the dampness. But hey what are you goin to do? I am a huge Xbox fan,
and I'm not goin to get upset about It, because I knew they would sell one w/o kinect eventually as soon as I heard they made it so it was no longer mandatory to have it connected to play.

 

It's pretty disappointing that in supporting a company by adopting early we've been shafted with the lack of choice. As much as I love Kinect, the price difference between the 2 consoles pretty much equates to 2 games and I would have chosen to take the
games and buy Kinect at a later time once the software was out to warrant it.

 

I bought the original Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox one all on l

their respective launch. My reward for my loyalty? Completely getting *** over time and time again. When all of my friends started complaining about not being able to send picture messages, not being able to send voice messages, not being able to party up
smoothly, games continually sending you back to home screen, having to unplug system to get a game to load, having to unplug system to stop friends voice from coming through Kinect instead of headset... I kept saying Microsoft would fix it. Now I know better.
Not only wont they fix it but will give us the royal screw over with the Kinect being dropped. We were told that every Xbox one would ship with the Kinect so that developers wouldn't have to decide whether or not to include Kinect features and so forth. So
Microsoft you can have back my pos Kinect for 100$ You can also have my One back for another 400$

I wish they would keep it the way it is. Without it being mandatory, I think developers will just skip over using it. I really love the voice commands, don't really use the motion thing much. If it's there, I see it getting used and it's still too soon to
see what potential it has. I think that this move might kill it.

Another option would be a microphone or using the headset for voice commands, though I don't like headsets.

I totally get not wanting it - I really do. But seriously if $100 is going to break the bank maybe paying rent and buying food should be higher on the list of priorities than a new gaming console

 

There was an article earlier about the developers response to the kinectless xbox one, and it wasn't positive for Harmonix and other kinect developers. I'm always curious as to whether Cortana will still be coming to Xbox One. With it set to completely replace
the search functions in WP8, I was expecting it to do the same on X1, but that's no longer possible. Likely, future Kinect support will likely die off within two years, and will only be used for navigating the UI and indie games.
