Kinect disconnecting and not recognizing when on after update

looks like something is happening with my kinect system. since the update it has been not recognizing my voice.

i have done the following troubleshooting, holding the button down for 10 seconds, going thru recalibration, kinect doesnt hear me, i moved connect, system restart, etc... usually once i do a "kinect doesnt hear me" and it recalibrates, it will work for
me, but not for very long. like maybe till the next time i say xbox on.

every once in a while i will notice that the kinect light isnt even on.

help please!

I have an X1 and have not experienced this. My biggest problem so far was my Kinect not recognizing the word "yes" after the update a month or so ago. Luckily the new update fixed this for me.

 

xbox freezing at start up

if you have Kinect... try disconnecting it from your console. ive noticed with the new update and having Kinect, the start-up is more sluggish and trying to sign-in with the Kinect simultaneously booting up makes the process delayed that much longer. I've
been frozen out on start up maybe once or twice since the update. Again, try disconnecting it to see if that helps.

Can you try
power cycling your console and then run the re-calibration?

Also check manually if there's a new update for your console: go to Settings>System. If there is one, you should be able to hit Update Now.

Let us know if that improves things.

 

Have done that, no updates available. works for maybe a day. Then i need to recalibrate again

 

And again i look up and the kinect light is off.

 

A lot of users have been reporting issues after the most recent update with their kinects. I for one, have contacted microsoft several times regarding the issue. They keep telling me to send the device in to receive a refurbished one. I am not going to pay
$70 for them to fix something that they most likely broke or failed to build properly.

 

It is recognizing my wife with no problem. I use to be recognized all the time before the update. I have done numerous calibrations and reboots and it works for maybe an hours and it stops recognizing me but continues to recognize her. It is getting very
hard to deal with this system anymore.
