Kinect debacle

I made the mistake of purchasing a Kinect sensor v2 and some old 360 Kinect games for my kids to play on their Xbox One S. Obviously none of the games are compatible and I'm not impressed. The Backward Compatibility claim is the only reason I purchased
the Xbox.

The question I have is now that I'm several hundred dollars into this nightmare, how do I salvage a bunch of unplayable games and a sensor that has no reason for existing? I would like to purchase a used console that will play all the old Kinect games but
have no idea if that is even possible since the updates would seem to make the older systems incompatible as well. Am I right about this? Would the older models of the Xbox One have updated software which also would reject these games or not? If not what model
should I look for? I thought about buying a 360 but I assume the Kinect v2 would also be incompatible with this console.

Any help fixing the Microsoft money pit puzzle would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I will cut my losses, sell the whole mess and switch platforms. Thanks.

I finally figured out how they are going to fix the debacle of the reveal lol

Xbox Awards Debacle

State of Decay is one the best games I played all year.

 

All Ones run the same, so the software would be the same on any version. Since none of the accessories and peripherals from the 360 are backwards compatible with the One, those games would only be playable on a 360 and you would need a 360 Kinect.

 

Sadly the kinect has been discontinued.

Hardware isn't backwards compatible as well. Unless it's a headset with an adapter.

To go along with what My fellow ambassadors have already commented there are only certain xbox 360 games that are backwards compatible you can find a list of them at the following website.

Now with these games if they are purchased digitally they will automatically show up in the ready to install section of the xbox one console as long as the account that purchased them is either signed in to that console or has that console set as its home
console.

If any of these games are purchased as a disc then all you would need to do is insert the disc into the xbox one console and it will then install that game to the console and then you would need to keep the disc in the console in order to play the game.

With a digital version of the game you would not need a disc to play the game.

Also you can use the voice and gesture command on xbox one using the kinect
