Kinect channel change no longer works

I'm a Verizon Fios user. Something has changed recently either following a recent XBox one update or following a Verizon DVR update that is resulting in Kinect channel change (e.g. "XBox watch Comedy Central") not working properly.

Basically, the Verizon box appears to expect the command to key the channel number then the 'OK' button to select. But it appears that the XBox is just sending the channel number, so you see the numbers appear on the screen but it fails to commit the command.

Looking at the Verizon Fios DVR box, it's stating it's on build 17.17 which looks like it's been out for a while (at least since July). This functionality was working until a week or two ago so I'm guessing that the recent XBox one September update is the
culprit.

Hey Cortana Voice Commands

I've been having an issue with the voice commands. Some of them that used to work fine no longer work. I don't know if Microsoft has removed them or if something is wrong with my Kinect.

It works fine when I say "Hey Cortana, show tv guide". If I say a show on the current channels displayed on the guide, it will select it. However, lets say for example I'm in the movie channels section on Starz which is channel 525 on DirecTV. I want to
see what's on channel USA, which is channel 242. If I say "what's on USA", it doesn't do anything. If I say "watch USA", it changes to that channel fine.

When I used to have the OneGuide show DirecTV's guide and said "what's on channel name" it would quickly change to that channel on the guide only and not tune to that channel.

Is the "What's on (channel name)" no longer a command?

 

Am I missing something?

It worked all fine and I could see the picture and volume just cant change the channel through the one guide but No I don't have the Kinect I can change my channel with my regular remote on the xbox one but I cant use the one guide with it so its kind if
pointless, but I was wondering would the Xbox one media remote work for changing the channels through the one guide? or do I need the Kinect no matter to change channels through one guide? Kinda pointless if I cant use the one guide and just my regular remote
on my xbox, ill go out and get the media remote if that's what I need

 

Bumping this - can anyone from MS confirm whether they are aware of this issue?

Bump, same issue happening to me. Exact same symptoms, channel is entered but no "okay" command is sent.

 

For the record, my build is also on 17.17, my Verizon set top box is a Motorola QIP-7100 P1.

 

For the QIP-7100 P1, can you go into TV & OneGuide settings -> Device control -> Cable/sat box -> enter a remote code and try these out?

Mine appears to be a QIP-7232 P2 (that's the PlatformID in settings)

For what it's worth, since I originally posted Verizon have pushed an OS update out and it's now on Release 1.9.7, build 19.45. Still the same issue.

 

In fact, I tell a lie. The issue now seems to be resolved following the update to the new build!
