Kinect can't hear me

Hi just got xbox one today ,the kinect can see me but can't hear me any ideas???

Party can't hear me

There are 2 standards for 3.5 mm headphone jacks, called OMTP and CTIA. On both standards, the microphone and ground connectors are reversed. So if you use an OMTP compliant headset on the Xbox, the microphone is "talking" to the ground connector of the
controller, while the console is "listening" for the microphone on a silent ground pin.

Please try the following: Open up the messaging tab on your console, and compose a message, but instead of typing text, press the Microphone icon, and try to record a message.

If you are able to pre-listen to your message before sending it, you being unable to talk in a party is a network issue.

If the console doesn't record your voice message at all, and all you hear is silence, then your 3.5 mm headset is probably incompatible.

You can try to buy a CTIA to OMTP adapter (or vice versa, as these adapters just reverse both connectors, they work both ways). That adapter can be found online or in any cellphone stores. Since the only purpose is to reverse two connectors, these cables
are dirt cheap, and if a store wants more than the price of a coffee-to-go for that cable, you're being ripped off.

Ensure it is securely plugged in... as secure as it can be... try hard reboot (press and hold xbox logo on front)

Try going through the setup again, ensure the audio form the TV is not louder than your voice.

Check where you've put and positioned your Kinect. Go to settings Kinect and calibrate it. If your TV speaker volume is too quiet or too loud Xbox 1 will tell you that. Try getting other people to see if voice chat will work with them. And try Xbox Support.
It might be a faulty Kinect. It does have multi array mic thing so it's suppose to pick up your voice if you're sitting not far away from it even if you have a quiet voice.

I have read a few people saying that the only way the Kinect hears them is if they mute their TV. This prevents the game noise from drowning out their voice. I haven't tried the Kinect features yet but will likely try tonight

There should be a step to calibrate the microphone on the Kinect when you go to the "Kinect can't hear me" option.

Okay I can't help you with the issue but I have a similar problem where I can hear friends in party chat and game chat but they can't hear me even though my Xbox is detecting that it hears me talking. This both applies through my mic and the kinect. The
thing that puzzles me over it all, is that my mic and kinect definitely work because they work through the Skype app, so can anyone help, please

Go into your kinect settings and choose "kinect can't hear me." When you're recalibrating make sure your turn up your volume WAY higher than you normally have it. That fixed it for me.
