Kinect and Controller Disconnected?

hey I have a problem where when I turn on my xbox one (only one in my house) my controller wont connect and my kinect will be plugged in and the xbox tells me its unplugged. I have new batteries in my controller and it still doesn't find my xbox??
help??

you can't unplug it. so its not off Like standby mode in a tv, its still plugged in. and if you press your remote when in standby?

If kinect and the controller interact with infra red when on ,why wouldn't you just sync the controller through kinect when off,

It would make more sense as kinect is a controller too, I think all the tech to sync the controller is in kinect. The xbox then only has one controller input to deal with, and it all comes from kinect, even when kinect is in standby.

There has to be a legitimate reason why you can't unplug kinect, MS not just being funny

Its cut in half from the original kinect. The original kinect span was 6-10 feet required. The new kinect I believe needs 3 feet.

I've got the same problem with my Day One edition. My wife's Sunset edition works fine. Mine has always had the controller disconnect randomly but I always thought it had to do with the kinect. Disconnected the kinect recently and it still drops controllers.
You got a faulty unit like me.

So you have had no disconnects with Kinect off? Have you tried plugging the Kinect back in to see what happens?

Maybe this is an issue with Kinect and not the console. My theory is that the Kinect could be putting the controller in low power mode.

Try disabling the Kinect.

It happens to my friend but he has his Kinect in an awkward place. It looks like whenever it loses sight of the controller there are problems like disconnects

[/quote]Happens to me only when using the Kinect. My daugher get disconnected everytime she move to the left or right . So i told her to keep in the middle in front of the kinect to avoid that . When you disconnect the Kinect everything works fine with
controllers no matter if you are not in the middle of the kinect when is shutdown.

Yep I can agree with this, as with the controller sat on my lap, I crossed my legs, blocking Kinects view of the controller, and it said it was disconnected. Put my leg down and it reconnected. This is about 5 foot away from the TV and Kinect.
