Kinect Adventures: River Rush - Curvy Creek always loading in the start?

Got my new Xbox 360 with Kinect with Kinect adventures as free. Every time I boot up Kinect Adventures, the main logo appears with "Start" and When I hit that - it jumps right into loading Curvy creek (River rush).

Every time I have to play the first level and choose the one I want.

Also I have trouble saving the game progress? I mean, I don't know how to save a game progress - on both forza motorsport and kinect adventures. When I pause the game, or exit I never get an option to save the game progress. Every time I have to start from
beginning. Is it a problem with my console?

I've seen some graphical hiccups such as a river or creek have no water in a 4 x 4 square and then it shows the river or creek again. I kept walking...no big issue here. The game's PROS STRONGLY outweigh the cons, IMO.

 

When you start a game up, after the title screen ("Press Start" or "Press A" it will often say) it will ask you to select a storage device. Whatever you pick, it will save your game progress to that. It sounds like you are potentially skipping this step,
as after doing this these games will both utilise auto-saving features.

Your game progress not saving is also why you always need to replay the introduction level on Kinect Adventures, it has no record that you ever did it previously.

When you end up in the river rush lift your left arm in 45° up to get in the menu and try to choose a storage device.

 

Thank you. I understand that the game is not saved. But, I don't get any option like that in the 'Start' screen or after I give the 'start'. Do I have to do anything with the system settings to get that option?
