Kinect adapter production officially stopped (for ever) - I want my money back!

You can't blame Microsoft, they announced in October that the kinect was to discontinue. Scalpers bought everything they could, to make a quick big profit, if nobody buys then they will be stuck and hopefully want to ditch them for as little a loss as possible.

Announcing to discontinue the Kinect camera and to stop production of the adapter are two separate things.

The first thing doesn't imply that already existing Kinects are de facto useless now.

But yes, it's a small hope that those Scalpers will ditch the adapters sooner or later. Doesn't help me right now it I want to Video-Chat with my Family...

just want to say if you got the skills and go to youtube there are video's on there, showing you how you can make up an adapter yourself. If I had seen this video's before I would have followed them rather than spend £119 for the
adapter. The parts are readily available.

You need a 12v 1..5a powersupply

Btw. I "talked" to the support-chat. They said "We know the Polygon article, but it's nothing official by Microsoft".

Then I contacted the author of the article who said, he was quoting "an on-the-record statement emailed to me by Microsoft, the company.", so ti actually
was an official source/statement.

How can I get this cable?

Is there not a way to get it via Microsoft?

That's the thing: There is no reasonable way to get the cable/adapter anymore.

Microsoft stopped the production for good.

You can only buy a "black market" adapter vor 100$ or more, or "hack" the Kinect and craft your own one (see link above).
