Kinect adapter (free)

I have just bought an Xbox One S and have been trying to get the free adapter for Kinect, I have an Xbox One with Kinect, day one release, and want to to take advantage of the free adapter offer, I have just spent 2 hrs trying to,get this sorted only to
be told eventually by a somewhat sheepish sounding adviser that it was not possible to do this yet and to maybe try again on Friday. I would have thought that would not be beyond a company such as Microsoft to have set up a simple online system from day one
release to implement this offer. I am severely disabl with MS and find the Kinect an absolute boon , I don't have to switch everything on I just tell it . Get your act together Microsoft.

Did you just contact general support or the specific support link found on the

Using an Xbox One Kinect Sensor with an Xbox One S console support page? Here's that specific support link it gives you: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us?NavigationPath=/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/kinect-adapter.
Also, the page says you'll need to provide the serial numbers for your original Xbox One, your Kinect, and your Xbox One S, so have those handy.

 

Amongst the many pages I visited this was indeed onesie f them. I am fully aware that I would need the SNof the three items involved but nowhere is there a straightforward form that these numbers can be input. If there is such a form the I missed it.

 

The OP is correct. Microsoft is unable to fulfill the free adapter at this time. They would not give me anything close to a time that I could try to call back and deal with another 2 hours of waiting. If they would have just created an online mechanism to
redeem the adapter or for that matter just include it in the packaging. At least you got a day to try again. I fell like the XBOX support person was surprised that Microsoft even offered this. Absolutely ridiculous that, as an early adopter of this console,
I have to be penalized.

 

OP is correct. The support page says to contact support either via chat, phone, email, forum, or through a tweet. Seems a little ridiculous that MS is making loyal supporters jump through hoops for the adapter. Just have a form that requires all 3 serial
numbers and the gamertag. It's that simple.

 

Its a rediculous loop, try and chat, it fails, try for call back it fails, when we complain its not working someone from MS posts hyperlinks to the pages that are failing and NOT answering the question or solving the problem.

Of the options to contact support this is the only one that lets me at least leave my displeasure.

Please let me know how I get my free adaptor or are you hoping I just buy one???

Back to EB Games (or your seller) as they have the direct customer service relationship. Idiots!

 

I would add that here, in Spain, the problem is exactly the same. Being in a country where PS4 sells 10 times what xbox does you can guess I'm the laughing stock of all my friends.

And to think that I bought it first day and I even own Kinect sports.

Just to make sure, are you registering your original Xbox One on the Device registration page? Be sure to run through the steps on the page that Zbox provided above. Once your device has been registered Phone/Chat support can assist with setting up the order
for your Kinect Adapter. Unfortunately there isn't another option for requesting your free adapter. Thanks for your patience and understanding

 

All items correctly registered, then links to customer support who don't appear to know about adapter offer.

 

I have registered all 3. When I contact support they say they cannot find my serial numbers, but i'm looking at them on the registered device page. I even got ahead of the game and made sure my Xbox One and Kinect were registered weeks ahead of the Xbox
One S release. 2016 and MS cannot even assist loyal customers in a proper fashion. Pathetic....

 

Finally got a call back and got the order setup.
