Kinect 2.0 Voice Problems

Can someone please explain why the most basic of commands like Xbox play, Xbox rewind never work consistently? It is so frustrating. I have reset the kinect, the Xbox, etc. Thanks

Why Cant We Use Headset For Voice Controls???

I believe that there are some technicalities surrounding the use of voice commands via Kinect. As they originally said the Kinect does indeed have its own dedicated RAM space.

So what would you do? Just wear a headset to use voice controls?

As a Day One purchaser (who was a Kinect skeptic, and hardly used the original Kinect) the Kinect 2.0 made me a believer and has totally been worth it to me. I could not imagine my Xbox One without the Kinect 2.0.

 

How do you navigate the dashboard using motion?

The only thing that seems to work is voice commands. How do I enable gesture controls on the Kinect 2.0?

Thanks, even with background noise down it is not consistent

 

It's also less likely to work when you shout at it.

 

re calibrate it with your background noise louder than normal... helps pick up voice commands... I am guessing you just got the X1.. it does take some getting used to how to speak to it. At first I felt like a robot.. now it is very natural sounding

 

The biggest mistake people do if the Kinect can't hear you properly, is bad configuration.

Go through the audio setup of the Kinect and do exactly as it says. When it says to have the room quiet, make sure the room is as quiet as can be. Also, this is important, when it says to adjust your sound levels higher than normal, really turn the sound
up. Not blow your speakers up, but close enough so that it is way louder than you would ever have it otherwise. This works for me and my friends all the time. The Kinect gets alot more sensitive to speaking and works a lot better.

Also, remember that if you move or adjust your kinect in any way, you should recalibrate it.

 

I dont need to calibrate my samsung s5 it picks up my voice commands really well and my phone talks back to me. It has s voice thingy and google which both accept voice commands.

Try calibrating kinect follow the dashboard instructions and make sure it isnt picking up any noise like your parents friends pets other people or other noises. In other words it needs to be silent. Other than that it may be just your accent. A lot of other
peps have experienced issues with voice commands so your not alone.
