Kinect 2.0 Review

I love Kinect because I can start, play/pause shows on Netflix when I'm about to eat or just lazy lol. My voice does everything! Plus Xbox go to or Xbox snap or Xbox record dat or Xbox you da bes. The code scanning is balling too. I just couldn't imagine
my Xbox without my Kinect. I love it.

P.S Anyone seen Daredevil? That show was op.

 

I love QR code scanning used it a few times its easy go flashy flashy wave it 2 metres away... done. Xbox 1 has no chat pad so entering the 25 digit code A....B.....C.... are we there yet? Convenient and fast.

 

@Rippen - I remember doing the Day 1 scan as well, those pre-paid codes still come in 360 style though allot of places have the QR as well.

QR codes should become more standardised by the end of this year. I tried holding an Air New Zealand booking e ticket which has a QR code just for the fun of it, at the Kinect. I kept my own from when we went to Sydney during the summer holidays. Apparently
(I know this) the Kinect will only read QR codes which are engineered for Xbox only. It totally didn't recognize it, but it showed me and displayed my gamertag next to me on my HDTV. If you buy new Xbox 1 games disc versions, sometimes they'll have a DLC or
trial Gold card. Most of the time it will have a QR code.

 

Pretty much all the DLC codes in the boxes have QR codes now.

 

Sure in new Xbox 1 disc version games. But Gift Cards like $10,$25$50, and Xbox Live Gold subscription gift cards, hardly any of those have QR codes. I've seen them at JB Hi Fi which for you Americans is an Australian/NZ retailer. I also shop at EB Games
not so much DSE because they tend to sell at full RRP. EB sometimes too but they do have good sales sometimes. I did see an Xbox One 12 month Gold subscription card with a QR code selling at EB. Well at least Xbox 360 has a chatpad. The good thing about having
a Kinect is you don't have to smack it against the Kinect's camera. It can read the code if you hold it up even 2 or 3 metres away, but it SURE makes life easier than entering in those 25 digit codes, especially when Xbox 1 doesn't have a chatpad. I do have
Xbox 360 smartglass and Xbox 1 smartglass apps on my phone. But I prefer an Xbox chatpad.

I currently don't have my Kinect connected due to not enough room where my tv sits (I need new entertainment center after I moved). I like some of the search function that it has, but its primary function that I used it for was for recording videos of my
game play. I like all that the Kinect does and all that it can do, but I don't use it to its fullest capacity.
