killer instinct season 2 update out now

Okay, so I'm about 50% done with the download of season 2 and it's allowing me to play. Unfortunately, since it's not done, there's not much to see, but here are my 1st impressions from what I've seen thus far:

- UI is drastically different, with a techno-style.

- Customizing your character is officially confusing.

- New XP system in place; all challenges have been reset (for example, "perform 10 throws").

- New resolution makes everything look better (yes, I said it).

- Backgrounds for your player card are harder to see.

- ...but emblems look cooler.

- New emblems.

- New achievements (with new characters and XP system; 150+ achievements total! With more on the way!)

- New microtransaction system is in place for those who want to use it (KI coins they're called).

- New stage finishers work just like ultras, but with different move-set and only on certain stages at certain spots).

- Maya is CRAZY!!!

- Game plays more smoothly.

Well, that's it for now. I'll add more later when more is downloaded and unlocked for use.

FUN STORY:

In other news, earlier this evening, I watched one of the most popular fighting game experts on YouTube, Maximilian Dood, who was doing a Twitch live-stream and showcasing just how insane Maya really is. During his stream, people would subscribe and/or donate
money. One particularly generous individual nearly crashed the entire stream and Max's sanity by donating $1,000.14. Max stared in disbelief for about 2 minutes in complete silence and then said, "I need to get a drink." He then comes back with a bottle of
vodka and then his stream blew up as a donation train started of $5, $10, $20, and even quite a few $100! It didn't stop for well over half an hour, including numerous subscribers (all at $5 a pop); even on-screen pop-ups weren't even keeping up! It was a
blast to watch as Max freaked out from all of the support and generosity from some arguably crazy people. He cried, hid his tears behind some really cool shades, thanked everyone as they donated by name, actually asked them repeatedly to stop, and of course
continued to game on. Ah, fun times...

I wish that would happen to me.

 

Not happy my xp and Ki points got reset it that combos and mayas arcade mode is still unavailable

I don't moan much but all stuff for the characters we have should be there I don't mind the one person a month gives me a reason to go back to the game but the stuff for combo and maya should all be there just feel a little ripped off I could have bought
combo edtion on disc got combo for free but because I bough full ultra edition I had to buy season 2

 

Overall, I think it's great (see above); what I don't like is how they handle the character customization in season 2.

In season 1, each character had 6 different colors, which kind of acted like a customization slot. You could take the accessories and apply them to each color. For example, my 1st Spinal (default) looked like a pirate, my 2nd Spinal (yellow) looked like
an Egyptian, my 3rd Spinal (red) looked like a caveman, my 6th Spinal (blue) looked like a viking. I could choose any of these from the character select screen simply by choosing the color.

With season 2, they changed it. You can still assign accessories to your character like you could before, but you can only do so with one set. When you go the character select screen, you only have 4 options at most (if you have the DLC): default, retro,
custom default, and custom retro. The default and retro appearances are simply the default character and color. The custom versions are whichever accesories I have assigned at that time. So I can make my Spinal look like an Egyptian for example as my custom
default version. When I go to choose that slot, I can choose any color I want, but it will always have the Egyptian appearance. I can't choose my other versions on the fly like I could before - now I have to go back, switch out the accessories, and then go
back into single/multiplayer. They actually limited it more than before, which I find ridiculous.

If anything, they should just use actual slots. For example, you can set one slot with any color/accessories you like, but you only have a limited number of slots, like say, 5. The way it works now would actually be fine, if you weren't just limited to one
custom slot each for the default and retro appearances, at least IMO.

 

The new Killer Instinct soundtrack (with the original Killer Kuts!) is out now, too.

Slan, you might be waiting for quite a while then - they haven't even finished releasing all of the characters. Also, you can play the game for free.

 

Hello everyone

As much as I would love to play the " Original Killer Instinct 2 " again (even though I am not very good at the game, but I have lots of fun playing it), I will not buy Killer Instinct Season 2 just to play it.

Also, it is such a shame that the " Original Killer Instinct " and " Original Killer Instinct 2 " will never become stand alone games on the XBL Game Store.

Furthermore, for anybody who isn't aware about this fact at this point of time; you WILL NOT get the " Original Killer Instinct " when you buy the disc copy of Killer Instinct Season One and you WILL NOT get the " Original Killer Instinct 2 " when you buy
the disc Killer Instinct Season Two.

The original games never have been my reason for purchasing. Only reason I'm waiting is for more characters to launch. I have so many games now I'm invested in that I figure I can just wait ;-) Looking forward to this new characters gameplay tho.

media versions.

im confused. if I buy the season 2, for $40 does that mean I get the entire game and DLC?

because the free one only had one character
