Killer Instinct roster defense

I personally don't mind a small roster, for many of the reasons stated above, but I would still prefer a bigger one - my reasons for this are because with a bigger roster, you generally (hopefully) get more variety, especially with style or themes. With
more characters to learn, it extends the life-span of the game (provided you're willing to learn more than just a few characters), especially if you want to learn how to properly counter your opponents or be able to anticipate what they may do based off of
their preferred character's strengths and weaknesses.

I agree with Rolly and GreenHawk said it better then I could in any since. That being the case if you have people bashing the game due to small roster explain that to them. If they refuse to listen then that's there problem because it sounds to me like they
might be one of those folks who bash what they don't like without playing the game first.

One cannot demand too highly since DH did have a small team. You can only do so much with a small amount of people. DH did an amazing job with this game and it's apparently don't so well that it warrants a season 2. How exactly are they gonna deliver all
this I have no idea. Will they deliver it with 8 initial characters at launch? or are they going to release them all one character at a time?

Now we have Iron Galaxy on the development and while I know their "resume" could spell good for KI I honestly think they haven't done anything to prove what good they can do for the game yet. Considering that at least three of those games were not originally
created by them. However I am open to giving people a chance so I'm willing to see what IG forms before I get an opinion.

On another hand however if IG's team is bigger and possibly more in tune with things we may get out some stuff faster and maybe have more potential for a lot of stuff. However I wouldn't be recklessly optimistic about this if I were you guys.

In the end however the main topic is that the game has a small roster but in comparison to games like Marvel vs Capcom 3 the game is really well balanced and it doesn't feel like there's a "cheap" way of doing things. and if there are; there's a way to counter
them. In MVC3 if you get stuck in something ONCE your finished and that's it.

No this is a Next Generation game I love this game and play it daily but I get sick of people defending DH small team ***. If Season Two is another $40 for the Ultra Edition that would be $80 for 16 Characters You and I will pay it because of our love for
the game but the casuals I don't think to many will. It's all ready hard to find a match mid week.

Small roster because of the following:

• Time contraints: Double Helix had only used Hex Engine a few months before the June 2013 E3 reveal. Netherrealm developed Mortal Kombat 2011 for 3 years.
  
• New team: Double Helix built this game from the ground up without any base established.
  
• Quality vs. Quantity: Double Helix would rather release worthwhile characters with balance instead of 15-20 characters of half the quality and riddled with character/game breaking bugs within the time given to develop. The focus on mechanics and playability
  reflects this.
