Killer instinct retail disc

I bought the combo breaker edition of the killer instinct disc for xbox one. After installing all characters are still locked. Its the sameversion as the free demo but i paid $20 for it at gamestop. Any idea whats going on? Any help would be appreciated.

How can I play the most recent version of Season 1 without playing Season 2?

Update: I purchased the Killer Instinct retail disc. It works fine, but it doesn't seem to recognize my Ultra upgrade pack file correctly. The retro costumes for Spinal, Thunder, Sadira, and Fulgore don't show up. How can I get these costumes to load
up correctly?

Hello everyone

As much as I would love to play the " Original Killer Instinct 2 " again (even though I am not very good at the game, but I have lots of fun playing it), I will not buy Killer Instinct Season 2 just to play it.

Also, it is such a shame that the " Original Killer Instinct " and " Original Killer Instinct 2 " will never become stand alone games on the XBL Game Store.

Furthermore, for anybody who isn't aware about this fact at this point of time; you WILL NOT get the " Original Killer Instinct " when you buy the disc copy of Killer Instinct Season One and you WILL NOT get the " Original Killer Instinct 2 " when you buy
the disc Killer Instinct Season Two.

Same here, this is irritating. Spending the money and still only having Jago and TJ Combo. WTF!?!

 

and .... I can not select TJ Combo, it states he is unavailable at this time UGH

 

I would delete the digital version and play the version from the disk...which may require an install again. Once I installed the characters from the disk they were still locked when I started the game and found out it was starting the digital version and
not the retail disk (even though I chose the disk tray option to open the game). Hope this helped.

 

For this problem I believe that Kneiw is correct. Certain games need to be re-installed from discs to work properly if you have both. In this case the disc has all of the content unlocked so it needs to be installed fresh. Since the marketplace version was
downloaded it most likely is continuing to read from this set of files.

 

I have read online where some have never installed the demo and after installing the disc based game it was the same issue ... Also, I do not want to lose the KI points I have earned from playing the demo

 

I never had any demo installed and today for the first time I tried to install from disk, but after that the season 1 characters are locked except 1. What is the proper way to unlock them because under manage game, I don't see how to unlock the characters
one by one?
