    Killer Instinct 'couldn't install, will try again later'


    When installing Killer Instinct on my PC through the app store (I own it via my Xbox One), it downloads the game, then it starts another download (the addons or bundles?) and then states: "Couldn't Install Game, Will Try Again Later". I have tried restarting
    the download, I have tried waiting a day and then trying again, I have tried deleting the download cache and restarting, etc., all of which end up with the same error. Error code is: 0x80073CF9.

    I am not sure what other steps to take. I have performed searches on the web and the forums, but haven't found a solution.

    Anything anyone can do to assist is appreciated.

    Uninstalling Games & My Games and Apps

    I uninstalled Killer Instinct and when I go into My Games and Apps at the very end there is a faded Killer Instinct box and when I click the box it sends me to the Store to install the game again.

    Why does Microsoft leave that there? If I have a game installed on my PC and I uninstall the game the shortcut will vanish because it makes sense.

    I'm not sure why it's still there but I did uninstall a game recently on my Xbox One and it didn't leave any trace. Have you checked any online tips about it?

    What the hell is killer instinct: round one? Is it just the new name of the killer instinct game or something? The round one part is making me retarded. It sounds like a demo or dlc. I googled it and couldn't find any thing besides info about killer instinct.
    See, I m thinking that the new game is just called killer instinct and killer instinct:round one is some add on or something. Much apologies if this is an obvious question/ answer

    I have the same problem. I uninstall Killer instinct and Installed it again but that didn`work. I hope they fix this soon.

    None of my NEW games work after 3 hours of install.

    Install the Blu-ray player app, pop in a dvd or bluray, watch it for a few seconds. and then try again, seems to have fixed my problem, just played kinect rivals demo, and killer instinct now on to ghosts

    Hello everyone :)

    As much as I would love to play the " Original Killer Instinct 2 " again (even though I am not very good at the game, but I have lots of fun playing it), I will not buy Killer Instinct Season 2 just to play it.

    Also, it is such a shame that the " Original Killer Instinct " and " Original Killer Instinct 2 " will never become stand alone games on the XBL Game Store.

    Furthermore, for anybody who isn't aware about this fact at this point of time; you WILL NOT get the " Original Killer Instinct " when you buy the disc copy of Killer Instinct Season One and you WILL NOT get the " Original Killer Instinct 2 " when you buy
    the disc Killer Instinct Season Two.

    G'day Austin! Sorry to hear about your troubles with Killer Instinct. Do these party issues crop up in any other game? If not, then let's start with some basic steps to fix this and then go from there:

    • Power cycle the console: Hold the power button for 5-10 seconds and allow it to shut down completely. Wait 30 seconds, then restart.
    • Try playing KI again.
    • If the party issue continues, exit and uninstall Killer Instinct from your console. Find the game in My games & apps, highlight it and press the menu button to select Uninstall.
    • Power cycle again.
    • Re-install Killer Instinct, then try playing one more time.

    Let us know the results!
