  1. Kids cant play multiplayer with each other

They are currently trying to play the Avengers Beta. We have 2 xboxes, and i have my profile on both of them. I pay for xbox gold ultimate, and game pass. Yet one kid A is on xbox A and kid B is on Xbox B, and one sends an invite to the other one, it
brings up a window asking them to buy a gold membership? Shouldnt what i pay for already cover my family members/profiles on my xboxes? I dont know why there isnt just a family live gold or game pass, that would make this so much easier.

FYI, they are past the beginner missions, and have the option to enable matchmaking, it just keeps prompting them to buy a subscription.

    :)

    Kinectimals for XBOX One

I agree. Xbox one doesn't seem fitting for my youngsters who just want to play games that are age appropriate. Regret buying the one as it has games geared older kids and adults and online multiplayer games. Just want minecraft, kinectimals and games they
can play each other. : (

    Game sharing

    kid a and kid b

set kid a console as kid b home

set kid b console as kid a home

once done thats it they can use each others games and you only need gold or gamepass ultimate for one of them for them to both play online.

the only caveat, each child must be connected to xbox live to play their own games which most of the time they will be.

Just Another Reason to Hate Always Online Games

I always thought SimCity was a multiplayer game? Simulate real life with other people? A place where geeky kids could fulfill perverted fantasies with each other because they haven't the foggiest clue of how to function 'irl'? lol

cant get my kid to play multiplayer

Hi, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Make sure that his account settings for playing multiplayer are set to allow.

To check make sure that he is under your family group via https://account.microsoft.com/family, make sure that he is added as a member. Once confirmed, go to https://account.xbox.com/settings and you will be able to manage his settings from there.

It is recommended to create a separate (free) account for each of your kids.

Also do NOT use your own adult parent account for your kids.

You should create a separate account for each of your kids with the proper birthdate entered in the account (so the Xbox service can enable online and privacy settings specifically for children), and if not already done so, create an adult account for yourself.

    Then you can
add your children to your parent account
    , and
control what the kids are allowed to do (or not allowed to do)
    on the console.

With each kid having their own account, they can later go separate ways when they get older, and take their own gaming progress with them.

With one shared account for both your kids, it's like giving one kid the crossword puzzle that the other kid has already solved and filled out.

Thanks to the Xbox One's "Home Console" feature, each kid can play the other kid's games on their own account. So it's sufficient, if one kid buys a game or a Xbox Live Gold membership for online multiplayer.

The other kid can then benefit from the Gold membership, as long as the owner account of the Gold membership enabled the console where both kids play on as their "Home Console" (on the console under Settings->Personalization).

If you have further questions about "best practices" for child accounts, please feel free to ask here. We're here to help!
