Kid xbox one gamertags needed!!

Yea but an awful lot don't, my best mate has no idea what his boys get up to online despite my advice. And last night I had a load of kids who sounded about ten all giving me verbal abuse in a Titanfall lobby and there certainly weren't any parental units
around.

 

This is the thing, if I heard my lad or girls acting like that I'd ban them instantly. My lad is 10 and he has been on Live since he was 5. I have a 5 year old who has started playing Minecraft online with her little friends from school. Then my oldest who
is 13, she has been on Live around 5-6 years. They are all good as gold and polite.

It get's on my nerves when people always act like it's the kids on Live that play up, the majority of idiots I've come across have been adult. I'm not saying there aren't misbehaving kid's on Live because I know there is.

 

It's definately down to parenting and having an interest in what your kids are actually doing.

 

Like i said before, the op will be fine as long as he keeps an eye on his kids and who they play with. At the end of the day it's only a gamertag, it's not like the op wants to swap real names and pictures of the kid's.

If my kid's didn't have friends on the xbox and really wanted people to play with, I'd have know problem coming to an xbox forum to see if I could find them friends to play games with.....why not? As long as you're careful and obviously make sure it's not
some perv preying on kid's. unfortunately people like that are everywhere.

 

Are you guys crazy? The OP may be genuine in his/her request, but anyone coming to a forum requesting GTags of children is a bit creepy. OMFG!.

 

I had a rather annoying issue the other year. My daughter was about 7 at the time. She'd asked to have an app on her tablet, was called Barbie something or other, I installed the app, ran it, seemed rather innocent enough, you just dressed a Barbie up in
dresses and did her hair and what not. About an hour later she gives me a shout. Basically a pop up had come up from some user inviting her to come and join a chat room and talk about Barbie stuff. I was raging, dirty opportunistic ***. It's not directly the
pop up that annoyed me, it's the pure fact some money grabbing, possible deviant had decided to throw these add on apps into the game in the first place, purposely grabbing a market, which can only be orientated around young girls. It's slightly off topic,
and apologies to the OP. But it's a mad world, parents need to keep an eye on everything online these days.

 

At the end of the day any GT can be created to show what ever the user wants.... DTA.... don't trust anyone!

 

Can they ask around at school and see if their friends have one and want to hang out?

While I understand what you're saying... I have to disagree on one point. At the end of the day, it is most certainly not "only a gamertag". That person on the other end is a living,
breathing individual somewhere in the world. We've all heard horror stories about how a predator deceived his/her way into the life of some innocent kid. It all looks innocent until Mom and/or Dad lets their guard down.

The anonymity of the internet has made it incredibly easy to deceive... so now all that's required is the ability to gain trust and patience. Skills I would think most predators
have, or they wouldn't be predators to begin with.

JMPO, but just looking at this thread's title stopped me cold in my tracks... I could barely read the post for all the red flags that popped up.

 

Why not just play it by ear? Join a match of Garden Op's and see who you find... I have 9 friends (I think), never game with any of them but still play free for all and control matches and have a great time.... although first thing I do is mute all other
players...

 

I meant it isn't actually anything to do with the child/person apart from being a fake name. Don't get me wrong, I can understand people's concern, at the same time though I can't imagine a paedophile coming right out and asking for kids gamertags on a public
forum.

People that shouldn't be anywhere near kid's are literally everywhere, teachers, doctors...... You just never know. This is why I said to be careful.

There have been plenty of threads on the Minecraft forum in the past, where parents have wanted to find kid's for their kids to play the game, they seemed to go fine with no problem's.

I should say the is regretting making this thread.

 

I imagine you're right about regretting making this thread... although I can honestly say that where it has gone may not necessarily be a bad thing in light of awareness and being careful. It is up to each of us as to how careful to be, but very true...
those kind of people are everywhere, so how careful is "too" careful?

I can't imagine a pedophile actually coming right out and asking for kids' GT's on a public forum either... but then again, considering what those kind of people are and what they do... I can't imagine a lot of things about them or what drives them...

 

No I know, it's a pretty messed up world sometimes.

Me and my wife have had to constantly watch what the kid's are up to online.....Well not so much them but the different so called child safe websites, there are tons that are in no way safe and the amount of people that let their kids use them is just unbelievable.

 

I have a 10 year old that plays those games. I will add yours to his friends list.

 

I also agree, it's not a very good idea to give out your kids gamertags.
