    Keyboard types 1 character every second


    So I have this problem with my computer and god knows where it comes from.
    When I start some games, my keyboard goes into glue mode where it slowly does each keystroke.
    Problem is, it doesn't go away until I restart my PC.
    What happens is that once it kicks in, it delays every keystroke by 1 second and inbetween.
    So I can type out a full sentence rapidly, but it will only go 1 character every 1 second and wait until its fully typed itself out.
    Looking online came up with nothing as I only find the same 7 fixes that don't talk about the 1 main issue I have.

    My keyboard works no problem otherwise and everything is fine and dandy.

    Just that very, very few games will cause this problem.

    One was hooking it up via HDMI to my TV and running some games, but wouldn't cause glue mode if it wasn't plugged via HDMI.

    The current game is Supraland Six inches under.

    I found the problem.

    Apparently I just didn't have the MSI's Intel chipset driver installed.

    Possibly that. Another option would be to do a fresh install of Windows itself, which would most certainly get rid of the problem, because it would force you to reinstall all of the drivers on your PC. Also, keep in mind that if you replace a CPU, and especially the motherboard, the most advisable is to do a fresh install of Windows.

    I have not since I found it to only affect a few things and found workarounds for them myself.

    I think what the problem was is that as I upgraded my PC over time, I think 1 of my hardwares was an overclocked thing itself, but payed it no mind.

    Might just need to do a fresh reinstall of my drivers for damn near everything.

    The issue you are facing could be related to an overclock on your PC. I've had something like that happening on my PC once, and when I've undone the overclock (on the CPU, but also check your GPU) everything work as usual. You have done that, then another idea would be to check for Updates on Windows Update.

    Let's check your Windows 10/11 version. Open the Start Menu, type winver and press Enter. The version will be something like 1903, 1909, 2004, 20H2, 21H1 or 21H2. Check that info and let me know of what version you have.

    If you've done all of that, also check for updates on your GPU driver, and if possible, reinstall it.

    Yeah... I did replace my motherboard after all.

    My previous motherboard was an ASUS Z-170 E which seems to have its own sort of overclocking thing.
