Keyboard not displaying on screen

Just set up my first Xbox (Elite) and encountering problems where the keyboard doesn't appear on screen, meaning I don't know what I'm typing.

Lets say I'm trying to type in a search box, theres no keyboard on screen . It did appear when setting up the Xbox, but not any more.

Is this a faulty Xbox?

No digital keyboard/Social issues.

I cant reply to messages or use digital keyboard. A black space where keyboard is suppose to be. Also notifications though turned on will not appear on my screen.

Xbox One Keyboard wont type

Hi, in a few apps (netflix, edge, internet browser pro) and even searching for movies in the store, im not able to type anything using the on screen keyboard with the xbox controller. I had a apple keyboard plugged into the usb to use symbols like @ which
are not present on the on screen keyboard all the time which was working fine but now they’ve both stopped responding. On the controller I can press A to select apps and navigate but it will not let me select anything on the onscreen keyboard.

Hi

Please try hard resetting the console, To do this please press and hold the Xbox logo on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds once the console has shut down disconnect the power supply from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. Once you have done this please
power the console back up and hopefully you should now have the on screen keyboard back.

As already mentioned there are many ways to enter you input which are also displayed on the keyboard screen as well.

Sure so basically I play games on the gaming PC but sometimes I want to be in the living room. I don't want to lug it around.

xbox has the wireless display app which screen mirrors from your pc but also allows you to use the xbox controller for input.

I still want to use mouse and keyboard and I cannot figure out how to keep using mouse and keyboard when xbox is running the wireless display app. It always reverts to the controller only.

I basically want to use the xbox and the wireless display app like moonlight but keep using a mouse and keyboard instead of the xbox controller.

Is that more clear?

Please open the on-screen keyboard:

- Go to Start > Search and click on on-screen keyboard.

- Then, please open Minecraft in window mode (not fullscreen) and see if you can play it using the on-screen keyboard.

This will let us know if this is an issue with Minecraft not recognizing keyboard inputs or if this is an issue with your particular keyboard (maybe the driver).
