Keyboard is typing multiple letters at press of one button

I don't know if any of you know what does it do when you hold the A button on a specific letter when typing on the Xbox one keyboard from the controller but i noticed when i hold the A button on a specific letter for example R or k some different
symbols show up on when holding a button on those letters on the keyboard and I'm wandering if that's a normal function of the keyboard menu I'm talking about the one that you use to search on the search bar for games on the store or when sending messages

This is normal

But do you mean to enter a letter, or a paragraph or to confirm what you wrote?

If you mean to enter a letter, it's a button on the gamepad.

If you mean a paragraph, the enter button on the onscreen keyboard has the same character as the enter button on the computer keyboard.

And if you mean to confirm it is the MENU button.

The Xbox Adaptive controller will only press the letters 'A', 'B', 'X' and 'Y' as they are the Xbox controller letters.

I am not aware of any way to remap the letters so that they are 'S', 'Z', 'D' and 'Q'. Keeping in mind that they are the Nintendo Switch buttons.

I will try to do my best to explain the lettered buttons.

They are not like the letters on the keyboard, they are just labelled with those letters as way of us humans easily understanding which button relates to which in game action. they are simply a form of input for the game console.

Also in all the pictures I have looked at of the Switch it shows that the lettered buttons are A, B, X and Y the same as the Xbox controller.

I was trying to replicate your issue, but actually I was able to auto complete the command.

In case you need it, I do it in this way:

Once I open the chat & commands. I start typing > I type first / > then I use a random command letter (in this case I want to autocomplete difficulty) > I typed only "di" > after that I pressed B button to hide the keyboard and then I pressed Right on D-Pad

And that's it, I was able to autocomplete the command (if I want to choose a difficulty I simply hide the Xbox keyboard and then I press Righ D-Pad)

To make it short, I hide the keyboard and then I autocomplete the command as usual (pressing Right on the D-Pad)

If you're not able to do it even performing the steps above, we can try troubleshooting your console and the game

There seems to be a disconnect between the actual feedback of the controller and the keyboard. Try a few suggestions as others have stated. Try turning it on with the xbox controller or by manually pressing the button. This should help.Could be the brand
of the keyboard. What type of keyboard is it . Is it wireless etc...
