Keyboard and Mouse?

Hi All,

I just purchased an XB1s and I can't get on to the joystick control for FPS games. Does Microsoft have a keyboard and mouse that can be used? I seen a couple aftermarket setups but they seem a little complicated and I wasn't sure about them warranty wise.
Does anyone know of a better setup over the joystick? I even think a trackball would work better for me than that blasted joystick!

so is any modified controller or 3rd part controller considered cheating? And what action is to be taken if you can prove someone is using one?

I manage a small gaming website and lately we have been discussing Keyboard and mouse use on the xbox. We are all in agreement that modified controllers (rapid fire buttons etc) are cheating but we are split on the Keyboard and Mouse issue. To make matters
worse so it seems are microsoft. Here are 2 replies from xbox support:

As I understand, you’re checking if using a 3rd party keyboard and mouse adapter on the console’s going to be a violation to the terms of use.

The answer to the said inquiry would be, “no”. You can feel free using the mentioned external accessories. However, we are unable to guarantee its efficiency with the console. We would highly recommend you to continue using the certified Xbox 360 accessory
to optimize your gaming experience.

At the gaming website we pride ourselves on not cheating be it PC, xbox, wii, ps3...even old skool board games and we will not promote or support anything or anyone that is cheating! This debate seems to rage across many forums and so far all I have found
is peoples opinions, never fact. This is an issue that I feel needs a definitive answer. Please help.

No keyboard and mouse.

When you say the "joystick" do you mean the controller?

If so, it needs to be synced with the console.

Yea...Joystick is an old term from way back and it shows my age but my grandson calls it a joystick too. The controllers work fine its just I've been a PC gamer since MOHAA and my muscle memory is stuck on mouse.

Does anyone have experience with the XMI4 adapter?

Ok, so firstly you should be able to just plug in the mouse/keyboard USB and use it (if they are supported) you shouln't need an adapter to use mouse and keyboard on Xbox One since mouse and keyboard support has been added.

Secondly I'm not aware of black ops 4 supporting mouse and keyboard use on console, so if the developers have not enabled mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One, then using an adapter to be able to use your mouse and keyboard will be considered cheating.

There are some games that are compatible with a mouse and keyboard. Not all games available on the Xbox are compatible with a mouse and keyboard.

Hi Ben Lewandrowski,

Currently there is keyboard and mouse support, but its up to developers of those games to add the option to allow it. Warface is not one of them that allows keyboard and mouse support yet. I can see that it is an upcoming title for keyboard and mouse support

For the following to work you must make the menu selections using your keyboard. If you use the controller to make your menu selections to start the game you will be placed in a room for those with a controller and your keyboard/mouse will be non functional
to make it fair to other players. To enter the room for keyboard and mouse users the game must be started by selecting the options using the keyboard/mouse. Hope this helps.

Currently there is no support for keyboard and mouse. There may be support in the future to be able to use a mouse and keyboard for game play.
