Whens keyboard and mouse support coming to xbox and how can we get it?

BTw when are you guys removing free to play games from the paywall like every other console? My cousin has a ps4 and says he doesn't need to pay $11 every month to play
fortnite and i have a nintendo switch that doesn't require me to pay to play fortnite

Currently there is no support for keyboard and mouse. There may be support in the future to be able to use a mouse and keyboard for game play.

Hi, very few games on the Xbox One support Keyboard and Mouse

Minecraft Bedrock Edition supports both keyboard and mouse

Games like PUBG, Fortnite only support keyboard for extra buttons

 

Keyboard and mouse support is a touchy subject on xbox as most people see it as a huge advantage over players that use a controller.

The decision is up to the developers of each game, individually.

I highly doubt that many games will ever support it due to splitting the player base on the advantage that keyboard and mouse presents.

 

It does not seem likely that free 2 play games will ever be available to play without first purchasing an xbox live gold subscription.

 

To answer your 2nd question, there is no word currently about removing the XBL gold requirement to play free games. If it has online MP like Fortnite it falls under the need for gold.

 

I'm surprised they have a paywall up for free to play games. That is a major disadvantage from their competitors.

Mike Ybara says M&K will be very soon and all options per game will strictly be up to the developers.

I would guess that Mouse & Keyboard support is only going to be available for a limited number of games, particularly game genres that work much better with them (such as simulation or real time strategy games).

 

I think mouse and keyboard support is a fantastic feature and another addition to strengthening the xbox system.

Phil Spencer did say it will be in the hands of developers to decide whether or not it should be implimented in their game. I think games like fortnite that are actively support cross platform play will adopt features like this very quick so i would suggest
we could be seeing games with it within the year.

 

Fortnite Battle Royale is free on the Xbox. There are plenty of add-ons that cost money for it, however.

An account for online play is required for both Xbox (Live Gold) and PS4 (PS Plus).
