Keyboard and mouse freezes the game when press a key or clic

Try starting these games as an administrator.

If the problem persists, perform a clean boot and disable as many third-party programs as possible, especially monitoring programs that are running on your PC.

Try to update/install the drivers in compatibility mode.

Uninstall and update keyboard driver:
1. Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
2. Select Device Manager.
3. Expand Keyboard.
4. Right on the Keyboard driver and click on Uninstall.

Steps to Update the keyboard driver.
1. Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
2. Select Device Manager.
3. Expand Keyboard.
4. Right on the Keyboard driver and click on Update driver software.

Also, try to search for the drivers from Manufacturer's website and install them in the compatibility mode.

3. Expand mouse.
4. Right on the mouse driver and click on Uninstall.

This might be game dependent.

I have a Xbox One controller connected to my PC, and I can seamlessly change from keyboard and mouse to controller and back in Sea of Thieves and Destiny 2 for example.

When I wiggle the mouse in Sea of Thieves or Destiny 2, the game immediately switches the interaction prompts from controller buttons being displayed to actual keyboard keys, and if I move the controller, the game switches from "Press (keyboard key) F" to
"Press (Xbox Button X)" for example.

So it might be the game itself not allowing you to switch to mouse seamlessly. Are you able to go to the game settings and force the game to use your preferred input method?

I have the same issue with Halo MCC on the PC windows 11. It’s a top of the range spec and there are no issues playing with controller or mouse but any keyboard input freezes the game until the key is released. I have tried several different keyboards so it isn’t a hardware issue.

Hello. I’ve also recently ran into this problem, I press a key or click the mouse and it freezes but I can move the mouse and it’s fine. I’ve tried reinstalling the game and it didn’t work. Help please
