Key to Shooting?

I'm new to this game, last basketball game I had was NBA Live 2003 lol. I'm having a hard time with the shooting in this game, does anyone have any tips? I saw there was an option to change the shooting from timing to Real Player %, which one do you guys
find easier to make baskets?

[EndGame] Anyone for the Keywardens / Infernal Machine?

the Infernal key are frome the key wardens of each act after you reach infernal difficulty

and key of terror act three

the key warden from act four will drop the plans for the infernal machine that requires one of each key

you use the infernal machine to open up the portal to the three UBER bosses at the end of act one and you need to fight them in order to get the peices to make the infernal rings.

P.S. the key warden from act four will also drop a random of the three keys

 

Although you can use the right analog stick to shoot, I prefer the old fashioned X button. I hate that the dribble moves of the right analog are tied to the shot, because if you hold it too long in any direction, you go up for a shot. If you use either
function, timing is important. I noticed different players have different timings, too. Release too early or late, it will miss. Once you release, a grade should come up letting you know if you were early or late, and you can adjust your touch accordingly.

 

Getting a feel for it like Adiran said with the timing helps but you will occasionally make a D D grade shot and miss A A+ shots too.

I don't understand the Free Throw misses with an A- release. I get that a lot, even though I have a 90+ FT rating.

If you go to Options, Hit L Trigger, Switch the shot from Default to Isomotion/Shots. This will change the controls to the same as 2k13 where you have to now hold L Trigger and use the stick to perform a shot with the stick, otherwise as always you can use
X.

 

Every players timing is different. You should pick one team go to practice and choose freestyle. Learn the timing of your teams shooters, especially the starting backcourt.

 

It's all about practice and learning the timings. If you play with a lot of different teams it maybe a little hard remembering them all, but focus on the shot feedback and eventually you'll get there. I mainly play MyCareer so I don't have much problem dealing
with release, but when I do play outside of MC in MyGM etc I make sure to use 1 or 2 teams so I become familiar with them.

Missing free throws with with a high grade can be annoying and I'm shooting 88% with a maximum 92 rating. I did notice that most of my misses are late in the game when I'm getting fatigued which may have a hand in missing a few.
