I've checked my internet many times.. reset the router ..etc... when I test the connection its good.. but as soon as I go into a game I get disconnected? what can I do to fix it? is it my xbox is bad?

Xbox Live disconnects when game starts; will not reconnect

Also, when I lose connection and do a connection test, the Xbox will not connect to my router. It essentially is losing my router every time I try to do something that uses the Internet.

Hello KyleJacob319,

Try the following steps and let me know if it works for you:

1). On the Xbox Home Screen go to the Settings tab, click on System -> Storage -> Hard Drive -> Profile, select Delete, then click Delete Profile Only.

2). Press "B" on the controller until you see your main storage device, Press "Y" on the controller and select "Clear System Cache" on the screen.

3). Shut the Xbox 360 off completely. Then turn it back on.

4). On the Xbox Home Screen, Scroll until the Social tab is selected on the top of the screen. Click "Sign In or Out"; scroll all of the way to the right and select Download Profile.

5). Follow the On screen prompts. If your on your personal Xbox, make sure, Save Password is checked in the box.

This should fix the disconnection issues when you start a game.

I think Microshaft missed an opportunity. They should have fitted a slot in their spycam. Then when you lose Internet connectivity you have the option of feeding the kinect with coins to enable you to keep playing single player games.

I doubt it's your upstream bandwidth. If your NAT is reading as Open but you can't connect to certain people or have connectivity issues, call Xbox Support and ask for Connectivity Department to get the right people. The NATs of BOTH players have to be messed
up to keep them from connecting to each other. Your NAT may not be truly Open. I had the same issues. What happens is many modems, Motorola included, exert a weak NAT of their own, a weak router function. The NATs of the modem and routers will overlap and
cause your issues. Also, a router may also need to be slightly altered to enhance online gaming connection. Both issues can be solved relatively quickly by Connectivity Support.

Have you tried connecting the console directly to your modem? It might be the router is causing the issue. Most ISPs provide really low quality routers.

Nat type is open (when I first used the netgear gateway it was set to moderate.) the issue has happened while playing titanfall and Netflix as well, when I ran my network status it was 5.97 dl, 1.65 upload, 1% packet loss, and 109 latency. I have hit a
dead end with what it could be.
