Keeps coming back to troubleshoot screen

The cause of this problem could be a bad system update or a number of other causes:

If this keeps happening I would suggest you do the reset keeping games and apps (requires account redownload).

If that doesn't stop this from happening please do the reset erasing everything.

And if you still have the problem I would suggest the USB factory reset:

If it still goes to the troubleshooting screen after all of that you will need a repair as the hard drive may be corrupted or you have a hardware problem.

did you try to powercycle the console??

Try performing the hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in
and restart the console.

That doesn't seem to make any difference. If I leave the console off for a while when I turn it back on again it does exactly the same thing & I have to reset the console again.

Hey thanks for that link, I'll try that this weekend. It does seem to have started to happen after the last update & I hadn't used it for a couple of months so wouldn't have noticed.

I also discovered that if I leave the power cord out all the time & only plug it in when I want to use it, it boots properly.
