Xbox says its overheating but its a little warm

I agree with the keeping it properly ventilated. I would also suggest keeping it dust free. Dust can get inside and cause issues as well. A can of duster could help, I make sure dust doesn't build up on top of it. Hope this helped.

My console won't ready any game disc

It's rare, but I believe it can happen. Do you install all your games as that extends the life of the laser. Also keeping the console generally free from dust etc also helps.

Just use an anti static cloth, I use those on all my toys.

Edit = Personally I would avoid spraying any cleaning solvents near air vents on consoles, perhaps a little on a soft cloth, than clean the console.

  5. Compressed air cans have the advantage that you can clear dust without touching anything but obviously spraying directly in to the console runs a risk of damaging tiny components. If you were to spray from a distance, avoiding going directly in to the vents
but clearing the surface you'd be on to a winner.

In all honesty, I haven't cleaned my console since I bought it in December and I only very occasionally cleaned my 360 just pulling the dust away from the vents once a year or so. That never failed and it never burnt dust either.

Consoles are made for the casuals in mind and it is of course recognised that not everybody cleans their consoles all the time. My advice would just be to clean it in a way that you feel comfortable but try not to be too violent. Also, if you do wipe it,
treat it like a TV screen. I'm told the glossy surface is very prone to light surface scratching.

Aight so it sounds like i can buy an air purifier and a swiffer to clear the dust on top of it. Im going to avoid spraying anything inside it. Problem is i live in an attic and theres dust floating everywhere. Im assuming an air purifier wouldnt damage
    my console either overtime?

  7. I wouldn't spray anything in it. Just use a cloth and wipe it down. I do it regularly.

A can of compressed air will be fine as long as you follow the guidelines when using it. I regularly use one for cleaning my PC and that, for certain, costs a *** of a lot more than any console. So I am sure your Xbox One will be perfectly safe.

Just make sure not to turn the can upside down and spray or you'll get ice on your machine(haha reminds me of being a kid and messing with people). Aside from that, a can of air used properly would be just fine.

It attracts the dust like you wouldn't believe. And even after spending a good few minutes trying to get it dust free, within an hour the dust has found its way back! Feel sorry for any OCD xbox owners! lol
