Keeping disc in Xbox One

I have kept my gaming discs in the xbox One from it's release but my friend , who is just new to the One says your not meant too.... Is this true?

Will xbox one play 360 games?

Xbox One WILL NOT play your Xbox 360 disc OR Arcade games. Might I suggest simply keeping your Xbox 360?

You need the disc in there to play don't you?

 

I keep mine in a bucket buried at the bottom of the garden. I know they are safe there.

 

If Microsofts original policy would have stayed, then NO, you wouldn't need to keep your disc in, but NeoGAF cried, we had the 180, and YES, now you will need your disc

To be honest mate I've always kept a disc in on the xbox 360 and on the xbox one without any problem's maybe take the disc out if you are moving the xbox ?

 

Yeah deezee that's what I have always done. But I questioned this when he told me cause every now and again when I change game it doesn't read the disc or most common on Lego Marvel game starts up no bother but there is no saved content, so you need to remove
disc and put it back in. My Xbox One has always been like this...

 

What do you mean about no saved content? My son lost all his saved content on Lego and he was a long through the game and had unlocked nearly all the character's , there was tears that day!

 

From my experience he didn't lose it, it's something to do with the cloud saving, I was quite a bit through and was gutted. I thought it was something to do with me purchasing the games when I was in the states. The game started/ starts up normally but then
there is no saved content of my game. So I eject disc put it back in, then it may come up error cant read disc, . The game will then load up after a few try and the saved game is there once more.

 

ok m8 cheers, but back on topic I will just keep on leaving the disc's in, maybe I'm just to lazy to take them back out !

 

I too always leave game disc in the machine when its turned off, had no issues in doing so. As deezee mentioned though i would make sure its not in their if moving the console.

 

I leave em in for weeks at a time, Never done mine any harm.

 

I only have one game on disc and that has been in the machine since day one with no problems.
