Keep getting randomly disconnected from xbox live

Hi guys, I know this is probably the millionth time a thread like this has been made but I'm really stumped.

I mainly play fifa, and since i've been back home I keep getting randomly kicked off of xbox live during fifa online matches. It doesn't happen straight away and seems to occur randomly.

I'm using an xbox 360 connected to a BT Homehub 3 by ethernet cable and I have tried reverting the network settings to default and also manually assigning an IP address but neither has solved the problem. I've swapped the ethernet port on the router and
also tried fiddling with the ethernet port on the back of the xbox but yeah still nothing.

Usually once it has disconnected I can re-connect instantly until the next time it kicks me off.

Its getting really annoying as when I do manage to actually score in a match I know i'll probably just lose as it will disconnect!

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

Keep getting randomly disconnected from Xbox Live

You need to have an Ethernet cable long enough to reach from your Xbox to your router/modem. Or you need to move your Xbox close enough for a Ethernet cable to reach the router.

then you just plug the cable into the back of the Xbox and the other end into the back of your router. If your router has only one Ethernet connection of the back of it, then you other devices will not work while you are testing your Xbox.

But all this can be done on a temporary basis, as a test, just to see if using a wired connection makes a difference.
