Keep getting disconnected from Xbox live

Hey guys, just hoping someone might be able to help me figure out what is going on. For the last week or so I keep getting disconnected from Xbox live every 10-20 minutes, but this doesn't happen every day. The last two days have been like this, but the
day before my xbox was on for about 8 straight hours with no disconnects. The 2 days before that were constant disconnects, but the two days before that were fine. I connect to the internet via wireless router, however I've been using this setup for years
and have never had any issues like this before. If I hook up the modem directly to the xbox the disconnects stop, unfortunately having a hard line to the xbox all the time is not feasible. I have a 360 S, my ISP is comcast, I have a cisco dcp3008 modem and
a cisco linksys e900 wireless router. If anyone can shed some light on what could be causing this please let me know because I am at a total loss.

Hey there Destroydacre!

If you haven't already, go ahead and visit Linksys website and make sure your wireless router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

I don't think, what I'm about to say, comes as no suprise to you, but with communication over wireless, using a specific radio frequency, can easily cause the sorrounding air to be crowded, when multiple devices are talking over the same radio frequency.

The Xbox 360 S's internal wireless network adapter is using the 2.4 GHz range, for wireless Communication. So does a Microwave Owen, cordless phones, baby monitors, or if you use a wireless headset with a digital RF transmitter with your console.

Access your router's web-utility interface and change the current wireless channel setting. Try experiment with the following channels (non-overlapping):

1 (2.412)

6 (2.437)

11 (2.462)

Since you own a Linksys router, I would also suggest that you turn off DoS flood protection, along with Block/Filter Anonymous Internet Requests. These two features are to be found under your router's firewall settings.
