KB5021255 breaks installing in Xbox App

After installing Windows update KB5021255, I can no longer install apps through the xbox app. If I roll back the update and use powershell scripts to reinstall and re-register all windows store apps, I can get it working again without the update. However, after I install the update there is no way to get game installs working again.

Whenever I go to install an app, it hangs at "Preparing 0%."

As an additional detail, whenever I open the Xbox app, I can't view any of my local apps. Initially. The Installed section is stuck on "Loading". If I reset the xbox app, this is fixed, but only until I close the app. Once the app is closed and reopened, installed apps disappear again.

Disappointed as I had been hoping to play some stuff today, but doesn't look like that is happening.

I seem to have found a work around. Disabling IPv6 seems to have fixed the issue. Which makes no sense, but there it is.

unfortunately you have to wait for the repair of a new update from microsoft.

FYI, to fix this problem, I had to revert the latest security update (KB5021255) Microsoft pushed out. When I removed that one, another one had downloaded Dec 18th. I had to remove that as well. Once I did this, the xbox app started to work again. I am not sure the issue or what is causing the break, but it doesn't seem like a good solution to have to uninstall security updates just for my xbox app to work. Unsure why security updates would also break the xbox app for me either. A second friend of mine is having this issue as well, but third friend(on a laptop) is not. I hope this helps and i hope someone from Microsoft will finally read this and put in a fix for the next update.

I have noticed something. I tried downloading Gaming Services through the PowerShell and when that happens, it breaks the Xbox app, it reverts back to being stuck on the pulsating logo. I have no idea how to approach this since Gaming Services is needed but when its installed it breaks the app. The Xbox App cant even download it on its own.

i have windows 11 this is actually a new computer and for some reason i could not install the new windows update not sure why its called "2022-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5021255)" and when i try to download it it fails every time and then gives me the option to retry. also i don't think i can even install anything through the microsoft store because when i try to click install on anything it just reloads the page witch i didn't even know was possible.
