Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart your computer and try again

Make sure your Windows version is up-to-date

Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the Xbox app or Gaming Services

Try uninstalling the Xbox app and Gaming Services completely, then reinstalling them.

Run the Xbox app as an administrator.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you can also try the following:

Reset the Xbox app

Repair the Xbox app using Windows 10 built-in troubleshooter

Perform a clean boot on your computer

I just signed up for the Xbox Game Pass for PC. I downloaded Cross Code to my desktop but I also want to play on my laptop. I installed the Game Pass app on both and played for several hours on my desktop. When in installed both again on my laptop the save
for me desktop is not there. Does Game Pass for PC support Cloud saves yet?

Dude, you're a F*****G genius! I didn't even know there was a mobile Game Pass app until I read this. I'm now successfully installing the Hitman Trilogy to my PC by using the app. I'm new to PC gaming and just signed up for the Microsoft Game Pass s**t two days ago...was super disappointed when installing games failed right out of the gate on my Omen 30L.

I have bought the game pass for PC. Downloaded the app about 4 times now. signed up for windows insider to get all the upgrades ect ect ect. And I still cant log into the xbox app ..When I download a game it's stuck at press start. Nothing happens. Tried
several different games. Rolled windows back to previous version..Installed the app again. Same problem over and over ??

Tried all this and nothing changed, still not working.

Also tried installing a different game through Xbox app and as soon as install starts it comes up with Error code: 0x86e00196

This happens with any new game I try to download from Game Pass, but i do own a few games outright on the Xbox App and these start downloading just fine. So just issue with Game Pass games.

I have Game Pass Ultimate and I am signed into everything (Xbox App, Microsoft Store, Windows Pc account) using the same microsoft account. Running windows 10.
