Just redeemed 2 Day Xbox Live Gold Trial, game still requires me to subscribe for a Gold ...

The 14 day trial is not the same as the 360 restrictions

  that subscription at any time during the trial period.

For Xbox 360 console customers only:

• You can’t redeem backward-compatible Games with Gold with this type of Xbox Live Gold trial.
• If you sign up for a 1-month trial of an Xbox Live Gold subscription , you can redeem all Games with Gold titles (including backward-compatible Games with Gold titles). If your Gold subscription lapses, you’ll be able to keep the Xbox 360 games that came
  from Games with Gold.

For Xbox One console customers only:

Those are the limitationa of the ttials

You just have to wait a week or so.........the gold memberships get the demo a little earlier,that`s all.

i`m in the same boat,.....although I tried using a 2 day gold live trial.......which Xbox accepted,......but they won`t give me gold status because they say the 2 day gold is tied to the Halo Reach game the offer came with. (bonus content + 2 day Gold Live
redeemable code card)

In other words they aren`t honoring their offer,......as I`ve never seen a 2 day Live Gold Pass being tied to a specific game.

@CloudSkywalker8 I also activated a 2 day Live Gold Trial from Halo:MCC. Xbox Support on twitter said it requires gold.

MW3 multiplayer like most Xbox Live multiplayer games requires a Gold account to be played online. You can create a new account and have a free 30 day trial of Xbox live gold if you wish to trial the service. you can still play local (splitscreen) and
LAN games without a gold account but for matchmaking or internet based games, a gold account is required.

Some games or console bundles occasionally include Xbox Live Gold trial code slips (typically 2, 3, 7, or 14 days), and I don't think credit cards are required to activate them. You just redeem the 25-digit code on the back and you should be good to go,
assuming you don't currently have an active gold subscription on your account.
