I get the status error code 80153021 when trying to redeem a xbox live 3 month gold membership???????????

Xbox Live Gold 7-day trial and 3 months.

So, my 3-month membership from my local retailer arrived today, and I just remembered I redeemed an 7-day Xbox live gold code. Is there any way to cancel this trial? What happens if I redeem my 3-month membership code while my trial is active?

Sorry but you can't share a Gold membership on the 360. Gold sharing is only available to Xbox One users. If you would like to play online multiplayer with your friends you will need to purchase your own Gold membership.

However, if you did add a membership and it is not showing then try going to Settings>System>Network and run a Connection Test. This will log your gamertag out. When you log back in it should show as Gold.

If it does not then you should look into the possibility that the membership was added to a different gamertag accidentally.

Just to clarify, did you purchase a 3 month Xbox Live Gold membership through the dashboard offer on your console? Or did you redeem a pre-paid code? In order for you to qualify for this offer you would have needed to purchase an Xbox Live Gold membership
through the promotion on your console. Redeeming a pre-paid code will not qualify for this promotion.

Yes, they are cumulative. You can stack Xbox Live Gold time for up to 3 years (36 months). You can redeem all three cards and it will extend your Gold membership for 18 months.

You cannot use your account balance to purchase an Xbox Live Gold subscription. You can use Xbox Live Gold membership cards. They come in one month, 3 month, and year memberships. It's the same kinda thing, a prepaid code that gets redeemed to your account
and adds the number of months you have purchased. The gift cards with the dollar amounts that get added to your account cannot be used to buy a membership
