Just recently got an Xbox One and...

I don't know if they've let the 360 UI go, but roughly 12 months before the One came out, it was silky smooth. When you clicked the middle button the menu popped up instantaneously. It took 2-3 seconds to invite a someone to party. Middle button, click
X on their name. I dare you to pull up your menu, invite a friend and be back to your game in 2-3 seconds on the xbox one.

I miss checking to see who was online during a kill cam.

send me a FR i got different types of games and just recently got the xbox one so I'm on either or playing something.

 

The UI isn't terrible, It's not great but it's not horrendous either. However it is slower than that what is offered out there by the competition. Likewise you shouldn't need Kinect to make the UI bearable. I feel that once Windows 10 is out and the transition
moves over to the console, there will be drastic improvements over the UI and it's functionality just like there was in the 360 life-cycle.

Right now I see the current OS on the console as a placeholder.

I also forgot to add 2 very important reason why the Xbox 360 is still " Supreme " gaming console...

(1) It has a MASTER OFF switch for all controller vibrations

(2) It allows users to listen to their music ANYTIME that they want to

As far as the Xbox One goes, it has almost been out for 2 years already. Has Microsoft updated the User Interface to allow people to turn off all controller vibrations on the Preferences Setting (like in the Xbox 360) and let players listen to their own
music anytime that they want to (like in the Xbox 360)?

The answer to both those questions are --> NO

The current Xbox One User Interface is okay

*** Also on a side note, I am a 95% Solo gamer and 5% Cooperative Multiplayer gamer; I HATE PvP modes! ***

They (Xbox 360 and Xbox One) both are similar and different.

The only edge I give Xbox 360 is... it is easier to start a party and invite friends on Xbox 360.

 

The start up time is great but that's it. It's not even worth trying to get someone from recent players into the party becasue I don't feel like clicking on five different things and waiting for all of them to load to IV someone .

Also, no background downloads unless your leave your system in always on and with an Xbox that's just asking for trouble .

 

Well, how else are you going to download stuff in the background? You can't do it when it's turned off - it'll need power!

And Lei, you can listen to music whenever you want on the One too.

 

I just assumed they could make it like the 360 and shut off after it downloads.^^^^

 

Someone please tell me that's it's not so bad that it doesn't even tell you when there is an update ready.

Did I miss something? What about updates to games?

 

"Instant On" and all your digital games are updated automatically as well as the O.S. updates. "Energy Saver" and it will notify you of O.S. updates as needed (Usually rolled out in steps.) and discs based games will demand a update when you put them in;
you can still play the game without the update if you "Go Offline.". You can also go to Settings/System and manually check for updates if you want them sooner.

Lol, hi Lei... well everything appears to be in one long disorganized line that you have to scroll through to find what you want. Like this - GAME, APP, APP, GAME, GAME, APP, GAME, TOOL, APP, GAME.
