Just my Luck? (Sunset Overdrive Bundle, high pitched noise)

Thank you for your feedback. Considering I've already swapped 4 consoles with my retailer, I didn't really want it to become an option. Even if I could somehow "minimize/mask" the noise, anything really. I'm not sure why only I come across these problems
yet, all my friends are fine. Could it be something to do with my house, power supply, extension cord?

I understand that the repair sequence is recommended, but the chances of waiting 25+ Days a long with a chance that they may send you a used console back, in my case .. Knowing my luck, they would send me a normal black edition.

Could purchasing a Kinect and enabling it reduce it in any way you think? I have heard that it sometimes doesn't generate enough energy alone, hence the noises.

Xbox one fan noise

My sunset overdrive console is also similar. Does it make a high pitched-ish noise when sitting 3-4 feet away? Mine does.

Hey, I have just bought the XBOX One Sunset Overdrive bundle yesterday and I'm experiencing the same noise as you are. Did you find any solution?

 

actually this is my second xbox i just exchanged and i have the same problem. its annoying having to pack it up, go to the store, wait in line, wait for them to check it, go home, un box it, hook it up, then find out its making the noise. THEN! repeating
the whole process again. im honestly considering just going to ps4

I've done this around 7-8 times now and I'm getting rather bored of it. I just want a whisper quiet console like my friends have, is that so much to ask for?

 

Does anyone know if this is also happening with Xbox Ones that come with a kinect? Was planning on buying one but might wait.

Update: I changed to a different extension but there is still a high pitched noise, like a loose wheel noise. Not sure how I can explain it but, I will post a video shortly for feedback if possible.

 

Mine too. I'm on my second SO bundle. These white xboxes are defective, and Microsoft isn't doing anything about it. I really don't feel like driving all the way to best buy only to come home with a third defective unit. This is why no one wants these things...

 

Ah, yours as well? Same, in my case, Asda. II really want the white Xbox One to work fine but I haven't had any luck with any Xbox's lately. This is definitely my 8th one.

I'm afraid to even redeem my Sunset Overdrive Game Code as if I do, I don't believe I have access to a refund/exchange.

 

It sucks but I might be looking at buying a black Xbox one. These white ones have way too high of a failure rate.

 

You think? I did go through SEVEN Black Xbox One's so I really can't say anything. The noise on mine isn't that bad, I might just stick it out.

 

So is this issue with the white bundle one?

 

For me it is. I've gone through two. And I've been seeing more and more reports of people with the same problem.

 

Got my Sunset Bundle a few days ago. Makes an annoying cricket-like/chirping sound the entire time the system is on. When i'm playing a game, it's not too noticeable but definitely annoying when the Xbox is idle on the dashboard.
