  1. just microphone attatchment for elite 1 controller + sound [atmos] on reciever

    hello,

I currently use an elite 1 controller on the series x .

the box is connected to an atmos enabled reciever and i utilise the atmos sound when gaming.

The only problem is that i need to chat with my friends as well while retaining the sound of the atmos through reciever

Scenario: playing halo with friends, music and guns all coming from the reciever. now i need to chat with my friend.

How do i do that. is there any Bluetooth enabled microphone which i can just place somewhere or any controller thing to plug in. thanks

    :)

    Hi Waqas_Malik86,

Welcome to Xbox Community Forums. We appreciate for sharing your concern with us and we hope that you are doing well today.

We understand that you are having issue with your audio when attached to your elite controller and atmos the sound receiver. As per post description, you cannot chat with friends while retaining the sounds. Let us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured, we will do to the best in our capability to assist you with your concern.

    We would like to suggest the following;

Solution 1: Make sure your headset is not muted

Check that the orange LED light next to the mute button is not on.

Solution 2: Power cycle your Xbox One console

For help, see How to restart or power cycle your Xbox One console.

Solution 3: Re-associate your controller with your profile

    • Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
    • Select System > Settings > Kinect & devices > Devices & accessories.
    • Under Assigned to, choose your gamertag.
Solution 4: Verify the NAT type for your network

Network Address Translation (NAT) lets you hide your IP address from devices that are not on your network. For more info about NAT, see the "Current network status" section at Network settings on Xbox One.

Solution 5: Test your Xbox One Chat Headset

To test the headset, start a party (requires internet connectivity) to test the audio:

    • Sign in to Xbox Live on your Xbox One console.
    • Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
    • Under Multiplayer, select Start a party. (You don't need to invite anyone for this test.)
    • Make sure your mic is not muted in party chat.
Note You can use the Y button  on your controller to toggle mute on or off.

    • Make sure your headset is not muted and that the volume is turned up.
    • Speak into the microphone. If your headset is working, you’ll see the ring around your gamerpic light up.
If you still can't hear your friends online after you've started a party, but you can hear sound while using in-game chat or another app like Skype, see You can't switch to party chat on Xbox One.

    Solution 5: Troubleshoot your connection

Check your connectivity by using the Xbox One Multiplayer Game Solution.

We hope it worked out well for you. If not, please reply back to this forum to let us know. We will be glad to follow up and help you.

    Have a great day ahead.

    Sincerely,

Xbox One Elite Controller Headphone Jack Audio Quality

There is also the option to connect your headphones via Bluetooth.

I hope this answers your question.
I have the Elite controller, and you can NOT connect your headphones via Bluetooth.

Also, the Elite controller has the same 3.5mm audio jack as the other controllers. As the sound is transmitted to the controller digitally, and then turned into an analogue signal, you won't hear a difference.

You'll get the most audio improvements by choosing "Windows Sonic" as an audio format for your headphones, or if you're willing to pay money for the Dolby Atmos for Headphones app, you can also activate Dolby Atmos for your headphones.

But the overall sound quality is mostly dependent on the speakers built into your headphones than the actual audio jack in the controller.

Also to "defend" the headphone jack:

I use a Plantronics RIG 400HX headset. It has a volume slider and mute switch in it's cable, so you can adjust the volume and mute the microphone with the flick of a switch.

And since Plantronics is known for making professional headsets that are used in callcenters and other professional environments, the Plantronics headset is also comfortable to wear for extended periods.
