Sunset Overdrive was a complete surprise to me, it didn't look very good before release, but I ended up getting it anyways, game was a blast, didn't care for the multiplayer though.

I just hope that the "greatest game lineup in Xbox history." Isn't just hype.

I mean, it has to be honestly with just the names and line ups we already know. Halo 5: Guardians, Fable Legends, Forza Motorsports 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Quantum Break, Gears of War.. I mean. Jeez, and there are a few unannounced

  3. Rise of the Tomb Raider isn't a true exclusive though and it obviously will be showing up on other platforms which in all honestly it should been on all platforms from day one, but that is my opinion and I'm still going to get the game by the way. Halo 5
at this time isn't a must own for me since I still have the 1st 4 games to play and with The Witcher just coming out it is going to be a while till I get back to the games.

Though I'm still excited for E3 and I hope we do get a release date for Quantum Break or even a time period and I'll be happy for that game, since that game is the reason why I purchased a x1.

Also they might also be talking about a new firmware update for the x1, which I wouldn't mind hearing more info on.

Seriously, people actually get offended by calling a piece of electrical equipment some slang name? Dear f'n Lord, is there actually people out there that get precious when it comes to their toaster, fridge freezer, console, TV etc? I genuinely find it
hard to believe someone would get offended by such a thing. Skin colour, race, creed etc, yes, but a plastic box with some components in it?

  5. Sunset Overdrive did what I didn't think any game could do. Take a over the top, flat out goofy game, with outragous enemies and make it fun for me.

Did you ever try Sunset Overdrive?

No, never tried SSO. There's something about the OTT, flat out goofy, outrageous type games that just doesn't resonate with me. For lack of a better way to define it... most of
my favorite games have an 'aspect of believability' to me. Halo, GOW, CoD (the ones I liked), Destiny, Skyrim... even Prototype had some aspect that I found believable [in a fantasy sense].

Of course, any one of those games can and do have their unbelievable and just wacky events, but that's part of what makes those games and moments stand out to me and I wouldn't trade
    them [events] for anything.

To me, SSO just comes across as gaudy <sorry, couldn't think of a better singular word to sum it up. Nothing wrong with that, for those who enjoy that kind of gaming experience,
but it just doesn't appeal to me.

  6. @Prof. Your fridge, toaster and etc. are little more than equipment that does a job around the house. As long as it works well, not much else matters. I think what separates consoles is that they're a device that provides entertainment and some people link
their taste in entertainment to the device that provides it.

For lack of a better way to explain, it would be like insulting their taste in entertainment I guess, if that makes sense.

  7. I didn't think I'd like SSO, because like you, I like my games to have a realistic vibe about them and when i first tried SSO I didn't like it. I initially opted for the guy and everything about him - his voice, his delivery and so on grated on me. It
was all a bit Bill and Ted for me. 90's humour. It was crap then and is still crap now. I then swapped over to the female character and I loved it. The voice actor did a really good job on delivering her lines and in turn made the game easier on the ears.
After an hour or 2 I was hooked. Whilst some of the humour does come across as "try hard", there were some moments in the game which made laugh out loud.

    I understand Blue.

And I also agree Blue. @ Prof... it is like Blue said, for those of us that have brand loyalty, and the other side is insulting our taste or brand. Like insulting our style in clothes. People get offended. As would I, if someone walked by and insulted
my outfit, I would firmly place to them on their backside.

  9. I still don't buy it. The X1 is still a piece of electrical equipment. If people get upset about something like that, then getting upset about a piece of electrical equipment is the least of their worries. Never heard something so embarrassing and petty
when it comes to a piece of electrical equipment. It's a luxury, not an extension of their own self worth.

In your opinion Prof. That is why we are all different, and have different points of view

  11. @NxtDoc

Do you mind if I copy and paste your comment elsewhere (on another gaming forum - not one of the major ones, just a small private one)? Not going to mock you behind your back, because some people might actually agree with what you're saying. I just find
it incredible people actually think so much of their console that they'd genuinely feel slighted enough that they'd get offended. I like me Xboxes, but can't say I have ever felt a deep personal attachment to the brand nor console. And being on the official
Xbox forums, I don't think it's the place to have an impartial discussion about it.

I've said what I've got to say to you on the matter, so like i said, I won't be using your comment to make any derogatory comments about you.

  12. Just because you "don't buy it" doesn't mean it isn't so.

It's just like any other slang term or insult. People will get that way over their cars, clothes, pretty much any item. Luxury items bring forth even more vanity.

Show up at a Mustang swap meet, driving a Camaro and start making derogatory comments about Ford and see what type of reactions you get.

If you showed up driving a Mustang and still made the same jokes, you may get lesser and fewer reactions, but do you think you'd get no reactions?

I'm not arguing that it isn't petty, it is... but dismissing it entirely because you're not that type of person isn't any less petty...

Exactly it's vanity - a truly first world problem. Petty, insignificant, next to meaningless and a host of other things in the grand scheme of things.

I mean, I could understand you being irked, put out or whatever, but "offended"? Offended because someone called your gaming console an 'Xbone'? I really don't think you'd be offended because people get offended over being prejudiced, victimised, persecuted,
bullied etc, not because someone slighted their luxury piece of plastic.

Well said, and I agree with your every word Blue. (Even it being petty)

@ prof... I appreciate your kindness in asking. What I said in my opinion isn't different then any others views. You could you just copy my post without my tag? I just don't want my tag thrown around the internet

  15. Not me personally (as far as being offended). It doesn't bother me when people call it a less flattering name, it's their opinion.

But, for the sake of not irking people who are that sensitive about their [luxury item] of choice... and they're everywhere... I just use the term(s) that aren't considered derogatory. No sense in potentially causing issues when it's all too easy to avoid
    it.
