    hi i have xbox live silver(i think they call it. the free account anyway) for my xbox 360 and i am going to be goin to buy a xbox live gold membership. am i able to easily upgrade from the free acount to the gold membership when i get it without making a
    new account?

    Just a question in general

    Hello,

    Microsoft has a complex way of doing things. I can only assume that they are doing it by console serial number, when you test your connection to LIVE you will more than likely be prompted to update, or be able to login automatically since you have the update
    already essentially.

    This is just a theory, though, you'll need to wait until Sunday evening to find out I guess.

    Hey, I was wondering: When my Xbox can't connect to Xbox live at all, how does it know when it's supposed to have the new update? i'm asking because I forced the update via USB and I was told I will regain access once my Xbox is enabled for the update.

    YES, Simply redeem the code on the card.

    That's it. No need for new accounts. Just redeem the gold membership code on the account you use.

    Have you bought a brand new console?

    Each new console has 3 free one gold memberships on it.

    You should be able to get one free month on the account your posting on, if you have.
