You did the right thing. It's best not to retaliate directly in cases like this and just report them so the enforcement team can take action.

Please in those situations immediately report the gamertag and block them. Do not try to retaliate or respond in any way that would break Xbox ToS. Its best to ignore the individual and let xbox enforcement take care of the situation.

Since you've already reported them, the enforcement team will investigate them and take appropriate action. If you do feel threatened in real life, you'll want to contact the police.

Sorry for the issue you are having. If you feel an imminent danger, than you may want to contact your local authorities. You did the correct thing as far as the Xbox. Unfortunately, on forums there isn't anything we are able to do except point you in the
direction or give troubleshooting.
