just got console .. tv screen is split, game does not fill screen

Hello .. we just got a console and trying to figure out the interface. have tried to play 2 games so far, neither fill the screen, 1/3 is taken up with info lines about the game or lines of text like a directory, though there is no way to select or close
this text?

Is there a way to make the game fill the screen without the text?

Back compat split screen

Hey everybody,
I play alot of back compat games on split screen yet the split screens never fill up the entire monitor even tho on the 360 they would be fullscreen. I have a standard hd tv. Is there anyway to run The 360 titles in split screen mode in fullscreen?

JPep, just move the other TV and console into the same room, problem solved.

Full screen is so much better than split screen IMPO.

This sounds like you have snapped the help app.

If you have Kinect, say "Xbox, unsnap"

If you don't have Kinect;

Quickly double tap the Xbox button on your controller

A Cross icon will appear between the game and the snapped app.

Press DOWN on D-Pad to select "Unsnap"

To snap an app again, double tap the Xbox button and follow on screen prompts.

Bo1 didn't have a problem in split screen, I used it allot and it always filled my screen, you using an old tv or something (non-widescreen?)

Cool. I got a 360 on eBay for 50bucks, really just into 4 player split screen games. There are not many on the Xbox one. Seems like the next gen console killed off local split screen.

It makes no sense a lot of the time that a game that has online Co-op does not have split screen. GRFS should have had split screen campaign, it had split screen guerilla. Lost planet 2 did have split screen but only the host got achievements, which was
the only way that game let me down.
