Just Cause 3 - your experience

Any one who says Fallout 4 graphics are bad should hop on a bus to specsavers pronto....

 

Seeing FO3 and FO4 side by side you can see the noticeable difference

Not to turn this thread into another Fallout one, but I don't really get those who say it looks last gen as it obviously doesn't.

 

I put over 300 hrs into both 3 and NV and there are so many differences its chalk and cheese!

I just want to say, people shouldn't worry about what I say about JC2, the fun factor is still there. If you enjoyed JC2 I've no doubt you'd enjoy this.

 

No,the graphics are a bit pants.Looks more like a remastered 360 game than an xbox one game.

You can't change any of the controls apart from the usual inverted etc.

Load times are horrendous,i restarted a challenge & timed the load time,it was over 4 minutes.

Not all load times are that long though but they are long.Had the game freeze a couple of times,won't log in to the online servers until you open your map or will log out when doing a challenge.

It's fun in places but for the most part it's more frustrating than anything else.

And don't get me started on the god awful "escort" missions.

I so wanted to love this game as much as the other 2 but it's not very good at all.

 

Except day one,load times. are. ok,must. be lucky....

And yop,like. i. said more settings. options (on foot,cars,planes,ect)....Somtimes. it's terrible,especially during. challenges....Just did one today,time. attack with a. moto. and it gave me the. feeling. i. was playing a motocycle game from. the 80's....

They should. rework all (most) vehicules handling.....Some. are ok but. most needs to. be. improved (1st moto)

 

I don't think the graphics necessarily look bad. It's definitely nothing mind blowing but I think the environment and explosions look pretty wonderful.

Some of the vehicles and character models could use a little work but nothing to complain about.

As for Fallout 4, I think it looked beautiful as well.

 

Has anyone tried using an ssd for game's on the X1 to help loading times?

 

I think I'll take JC3 off my Boomerang list! I loved the first JC game but was underwhelmed by JC2, maybe due to me overhyping it lol.

I've just watched the FO3/FO4 comparison video and FO3 has aged surprisingly well, but anyone who says the graphics in FO4 aren't very good or are just a minor improvement are either nigh on blind or seeking attention. FO4 is stunning at times and just go
to the top of a tower and check out the draw distance on the vistas!!!

 

It's got more enjoyable so glad I stuck with it but the loading times are really letting the whole experience down for me.

I was a bit harsh saying the graphics are pants,they're not that bad considering how much there is.Think I was just expecting more after Mad Max & The Witcher.

At the end of the day graphics don't make the game any worse.

Something that concerned me is how easy it seems to be to liberate areas, I can't remember JC2 being that easy. Just worried it'll be over a little to quick.

 

Don't remember. if Just. Cause 2. was. harder or easier...Play it a. long time.

But. i. remember that. Just Cause. 2 have. a. level. difficulty and. Rico. got upgrades. which. makes. him very. strong over time...And after. a. while. the. game. becomes "too. easy" (i. remember that i restart. the game. on. a. higher difficulty)

The "mods" in Just. Cause 3,doesn't seems. to. make Rico. stronger....Most are. nitro,how. much. grenades you can. carry,ect....and. can. be. disable....

So far,i. didn't. struggle. to get. an. outpost,but i died a. lot in some and. i notice that there. are more and more. stronger soldiers,snipers,tanks,ect....

 

I found an easy way to take out the military base's. As soon as air strikes are called on you, just keep gliding around on your parachute, the air strikes totally miss you while they destroy everything else for you. The soldiers you can just pick off while
gliding around.

 

Graphics are good, especially considering how much the game has to show you.

Most of the action is from a GTA V like sandbox perspective but the game does a great job of bringing you up and close to the characters. They have specific looks, seem less generic and are more expressive.

The chaos on screen and all around you is intense and great fun.

It's a bit annoying that there's no mini map to tell you what direction enemies are at... and no incoming fire indicators either... but if you're standing still long enough to wonder about that you're missing the point of "Just Cause 3" where you can be
Zip Lining up, down and all around town.

Like Goat says above it's so chaotic that even the AI can get tripped up over themselves.

Not had to deal with an organised air-strike against me yet but sometimes tanks and helicopters end up taking out themselves or others in their zeal to get me.

 

After an extensive day set aside for JC3, I have to say it is awesome. Is it just me that doesn't have problems with every game released since 2013? I have it on an external HDD and I'm not suffering horrible loading times, in fact FO4 is taking longer to
load for some reason. Given the size of the game I wasn't expecting life like graphics, look guys, I think it's awesome and I look forward to the 4 days of xmas to play it.
