    Greetings,

    So the most recent free game from xbox that I actually want to download... Xbox won't even let me download it. It keeps telling me error code 80150017, a code btw that doesn't even exist in the xbox error codes. AMAZING!!! I know I am not the only one going
    through this but i would love an explanation. Why do we pay so much for XboxLive??? while other gaming is light years better service and way cheaper? confusing...... Come on Microsoft just do your job! I do mine, please do yours....

    You added one extra number thats why xbox error codes are 8 digitals

    This one is easy

    Does your account region actually reflect your actual location? Excluding us foreign bases

    If not that would be why

    In order to download region locked content your account region must reflect your actual region

    And if it is not possible?

    For example my real region is Latvia, but Xbox doesn't support it, so i have to choose the "fake" one ( Russia).

    Its not possible as long as you asdont live in an xbox live region

    Well, then that is a complete *** ... why do we have to pay for Gold Memberships when we can't download the free games ... Is there another way to download the game .. ?

    There is no way around region locking. You can only download the game if your account region and physical location match and you are in a region where the games is available.

    You are only garenteed games if you live in an xbox live country and your account region matches

    This has to do with international laws on copyright and distribution rights

    You can get region locked games downloaded if you have a VPN available. Example, I came from the US and now live here in Sweden. At times there are games only available for the USA market which I can't get here and vice versa. I would connect to my VPN and
    get a USA ip address to match my console region. Then I start downloading my game. You only need to get over 1% started on the VPN then you can change back to your regular internet connect to increase the speed, but at 80% you need to reconnect the VPN at
    the next security check. After that you can play. There are many tutorials online, just google. This game Just cause 2 is available here in Sweden so I was able to download it using my Swedish xbox live account but my US live account kept giving me the region
    error.
