Just bought XBOX one concerned about downloading games in bundle

Hey, just joined the forum. As the title says i just recently ordered an XBOX one bundle with Fifa 16 and Forza 6. I am a little concerned as i have just been informed all these next gen console bundles don't include the physical disc but just a digital
download code for the game. The problem is in my area the internet is very poor, my speed is around 4mbps and we only have upto 6mbps available in our area. because of this downloading games obviously is not practical for me and i was only planning picking
up disc based games.

Im moving over from PS3 and I'm not really a big online gamer ( due to my internet speeds ). Its still possible to play online but i have just never really got into it, i know i will maybe change my opinion on this once i get into my new XBOX one.

My xbox is due to arrive tomorrow, I have asked around my friends and family to find out if any of them have high speed broadband that i could use just to get the games downloaded but none of them have it. Is there anyway i can exchange these download codes
for physical discs or anywhere that i could get a shot of high speed internet ( a game store etc ).

I found a website that gives download time estimates based on your speed and I'm looking at 18 hrs for Fifa 16 alone !

No Ryse Token Code Received

Bought Xbox One Sunset Overdrive bundle within the last week but did not have time to hook it up until now ;

I am concerned about whether I will get a code for Ryse as what others have received.

Am I still eligible?

Yea I just bought the Titanfall Xbox One bundle, think about how i feel....

 

It will most likely be codes and you won't be able to swap them for discs I'm afraid, even when you do buy discs they also have to be installed to the Xbox so you could be in for a long wait when it comes to playing new games!

I'm not aware of any game shop that would allow you to take your Xbox to download games

 

I know bit of a pickle ! Only option I can see is to try and find someone with fibre optic high speed but had no joy with that so far. Hopefully someone gets back to me that has it.

I know that even with the discs it still has to install but that shouldn't be effected by Internet speed should it as it's installing the data that already pre installed on the disc ?

 

When installing from the disc make sure you don't have your One connected to the internet at the time.

If you do the console will attempt to download patches for the game, if any exist, at the same time which slows down the install even on a quick connection.

 

Yeah,99% of games have patches to download as well so as Jessica said,don't be connected to the internet when installing a disc game.

It's a pain but you can leave your console in "instant on" mode so when you turn it off it downloads stuff in the background but with your speeds you are still going to have a wait.

 

My good friend has this problem aswell so he just downloads them overnight,just make sure you change your power settings so it doesn't shut itself down after a few hours.
