Just bought Live Gold twice - its not that clear

I'm having a bit of a mare with Xbox Live Gold,

I've just purchased a X1 and was having a good look around, I activated my 14 day free trial and had a look to see what benefits it has. I opened up Xbox fitness and it said 'Get unlimited access to xbox fitness with Xbox live gold' so I thought why not
just pay for it now so I can use all the features.

So I went into MENU > SETTINGS > SUBSCRIPTIONS > LEARN ABOUT GOLD MEMBERSHIP > CONTINUE > 12 MONTH XBOX LIVE GOLD £39.99

It then informed me that its renewed annually and I clicked confirm. I can't remember what the next screen said (I've gone through it again to refresh my memory but fear I'd pay for it yet again.) but I distinctly remember it saying again 1 Month £5.99 12
months £39.99 so I selected 12 months again as I thought it was a conformation step. Only to reaslise that I'd just paid for a 2nd year! Its very probably my own fault, but I don't think it's that clear. I remember seeing my expiry date being 26/08/2016 but
can't remember how to get back to that screen. Can anyone confirm that I have infact paid for 2 x 12 months xbox live gold? I was really looking forward to my X1 but this has kind of tainted my first few hours of ownership

hello, I just paid twice for Xbox Live gold 1 month. I’d like a refund for one of the 10.95 subscriptions I bought. Thanks.

 

If you click on My Account at the top next to your avatar. There is a section called Transactions. If there are identical transactions but the time... you bought it twice.

 

Thank you for that, I have indeed bought it twice but I still don't actually have it. I've just gone onto xbox fitness and it says "get unlimited access now" so I click on it and it then says "get xbox live gold" which I've already got! So I don't know why
it's prompting me. I really don't understand it, am I meant to activate it or something having already bought it?

 

If you call support in your area you will be able to get a refund for the second year, maybe even the first year if you do it within 7 days of purchase.

Gold adverts are much like TV adverts. for example ---- You may be a member of the Sky network, yet adds still exist to have you join the Sky network..... If you are a member, no need to join again. A price needs to be paid for unlimited access.....

BTW, you show up as a Gold Member here.
