Just bought live and it doesn't work

I had just bought Xbox live for 3 months. I load up a game ready to jump back on Xbox live and play with some friends. Goes to multiplayer and it tells me I need Xbox live to play. But I just paid for live and got the confirmation email and everything. I
tried restarting my Xbox and nothing. Did Xbox just rob me?

It's ridiculous this just happened to me today but in my system settings it say in subscriptions I have xbox live gold and when it expires but tells me I can't join a party or play online when I attempt to play a game because I don't have GOLD. They ripped
us off it's a pain getting any kind of support that can fix this. It's not us it's them this isn't my first rodeo redeeming a card smh

 

Same issue with my son who just got 12 month subscription. It shows up in his subscriptions on his settings page he's good for a whole year. He can download the Xbox Gold games but cannot use party chat or invite to game. it tells him he needs to subscribe.
so it's obviously an issue on their end.

 

Just had the same thing got a 3 month card and now say my profile is not allowed to play on xbox live **** joke

 

I'm assuming it's due to the service alert on Xbox.com/status I was fine until today, then my Xbox couldn't sync my game. So I guess I have to play offline until the fix the issue. They have a feature where they will notify you once the service is back
on.

They're claiming it has to do with downloads and purchases, but I am trying to play with a disc. The only reason I can think of for mine not working is I have some downloading items from the creator's club.

Hopefully they fix it soon, but I bet they gave up as it's the weekend now.

 

If they were as quick to fix the issue as they were to edit my post we would be golden.... Sweet how the part were it takes your money NEVER NEVER EVER goes down but once you've paid well just bend over and take it.
