Just bought a used Xbox One having issues using online services

Hello,

I recently purchased a used Xbox One S at GameStop, and I have created my first Microsoft account (and Xbox one "gameplay account") today. I saw that it came with a 14 day free trial card in the package and I redeemed it because apparently most all online
function/gameplay requires some type of Xbox live subscription. When I went to add my friends (after I searched for their gamertags they provided) it allowed me to add them as a friend, but it would not allow me to send them a message or talk to them in party
chat or even play online games with them! It gave me the error message "because of past behavior you cannot do this". This is extremely confusing and quite frustrating as I cannot figure out why this is occurring. I only recently purchased an Xbox and therefore
(I would certainly think) I do not have any "previous behavior" that would prevent me from using Xbox live services? So far I'm somewhat disappointed in my experience with this as my friends and colleagues have recommended Microsoft Xbox products to me (the
reason why I purchased an Xbox one in the first place) and have all had no issues at all.

I was provided with the "SR number" 1393152270 as I have already contacted Microsoft support can't about this issue. Hopefully this can be resolved sometime soon, thank you all for any help!

Xbox live problem

I am receiving " Xbox live problem.

"Your network is good, but there are some Xbox service issues."

Sorry, there's a problem on our end. Social and Gaming.

I just bought this gaming system xbox one and I can't even play online? REALLY MS Xbox Really?

Anyone having this issue too?

Xbox One Controller

I'm having the same problem here with a Day One edition controller. Not having any luck using the Xbox Online Service Center - the site just doesn't work.

Nobody in the forums can help with this. There aren't any support agents here and no one except phone support (not chat) can access any account details that might be needed to resolve this. You will have to phone in and get help that way.

If it's a console.ban you can only wait till the suspension time is served

(Assuming it could've been the previous user )

You can always talk to GameStop

Keep in mind console bans also occur on other consiless not just xbox

Unfortunately the code was likely redeemed by the original owner and is therefore already used.

you don't need to factory reset the xbox to remove his account, you can do it by signing into your account and going into settings>account>remove accounts.

if you can only play by signing into his account then that is breaking the ToU and you could end up with an enforcement action taken against your account and his.

if the person made the xbox his home xbox then you can remove his account from the xbox and play the game on your account.

if you uninstall the game you won't be able to download it again unless you buy it on your account.
