Just an idea for Xbox

I don't see that happening. If they're going to release an xbox with better hardware, it will probably be next gen stuff. That said, idk how long this current gen is going to last. The consoles are already tapped out when it comes to games on both platforms.
There just isn't enough horsepower like it used to be when the ps3 and 360 launched.

 

Well obviously it touched a nerve in some people bringing this up to get it to 3 pages long Azrael. There has been good points on all sides, but Yeah I doubt they would ever do a hardware overhaul, if they have a new system coming out in the next couple
of years. I know the 360 has served it's purpose and it's time for me to upgrade, just was hesitant. Again thanks everyone for your input on this subject.

 

This debate will carry on for years to come....basically until the NEXT generation. What a waste of energy. I've played both an X1 and a Ps4 and personally, I can't tell the difference. Maybe it's due to the fact that I need new glasses, but they seemed
too similar to nitpick. Can our forum EVER get beyond this?

Microsoft has thrown dedicated cores, new development tools, and even The Power of the Cloud at the problem to no avail.

Now, with software you can mimic the solution for those who play online, but that's only a VR bandaid covering over the other bandaids in an attempt to hide the cancer.

'resolutiongate'? Wasn't that the term a well known reporter (of sorts) was paid by MS to use in an article to help lend support to minions talking points such as. 'I can't see a difference.' when you obvisouly can? Example: Halo 5's paper waterfalls, changing
textures and shadows that magically appears and disappears depending on how close the main characture is from structures etc.

If I, being blind in one eye and half blind in the other can SEE IT. Then surely others can as well.

I doubt it! There's always been fanboys/girls about. I can even remember it going back to school when the Spectrum 48k/Commodore 64 was about, nowhere near as bad as today but it was there.

Like you I have both consoles and I just cannot see the differences. Ok maybe if I ran a side by side comparison on the same TV ( which I'm not in the position to do and wouldn't waste my time ) but nah, it's just not there.

What's made me chuckle on quite a few occasions is when you see on here from a few of the forum regulars .... "Microsoft has the way better exclusives" ..... Now ok I do think ( but it's just my own opinion on the type of games I enjoy ) Microsoft does have
a great line up but for someone that doesn't like the likes of Forza, Halo etc how does Microsoft have the best exclusives? It seems some see it as because it's their opinion, it's fact for everyone else, ermmm no!

End of the day though I think even the majority of fanboys can see there isn't such a difference between the two consoles, would they ever admit it? Very much doubt it as what could they use as ammo in the never ending war of words ... "Mines shinier than
yours" ... I've said it many times though. If their console of choice is really that good, why spend all that time arguing with the other side? You've got a great console, the best games, best graphics but you choose to spend a lot of time throwing insults
at the other side, make sense to anyone else?

 

Electro comeback when you've played something apart from 360. Your opinion may have some validity then.

 

The VAST majority of this thread has been posts about whether the X1 would get an upgrade or not. Which was the OP's question. Replies have ranged from no, to maybe, to there'll be a next gen before that...

... there isn't a console war/debate happening in this thread. In fact some posts that have mentioned rival platforms have suggested that they need upgrades also. Nintendo's next-gen NX even got a mention. It's a next-gen a year or two away. Ha ha. {XD

Sorry Genchy, but everytime I go to buy a next gen console. I look down at the money and say to myself. 'Is it worth it?'

Then I get to thinking about what games to get.

X1 - I really only want Rise of the Tombraider.

PS - No mans sky, and Uncharted 4.

So in discussing it with my wife, she suggests other things, and just the other day reminded me that. 300 Billion in New spending was added to the National debt within a single day.

So not wanting to follow their poor spending habits. I decided to just fill my game Library for the 360 and PS3 to help curb my gaming desires.

Yet you condend that if I don't actually own an X1 or P4 that any 'opinion' I may have is invalid? That's rich!

ON TOPIC: If their is a 'next gen.' For consoles. I don't see it being a console but rather something simular to the Alienware Alpha.

 

Electro ~ I'd say grab a current-gen mate, whatever it is. I was playing Injustice and Soul Calibur V on 360 last night/this morning and I swear the controller feels like it has jam in it compared to the X1's.

I played a little Dragons Dogma and trying to hit anything with my bow was crazy-hard. I used to be able to do it. lol There's a, delay, in the sticks. You move them, and what would be a precise nudge on X1, is no movement onscreen on 360. Heh.

It takes about a day to get used to the graphics on X1, and take them for granted, but you appreciate them nonetheless. Bundles are cheaper heading into Christmas, games are cheaper, there are good digital sales week in and out, and Fallout 4, just, Fallout
4... s'a no-brainer. Hop onboard. {=D

 

No Electro because your opinion is always anti something you don't have any first hand experience of, you speak about graphics differences and games when you haven't actually had any time with either console or played any of the games, therefore your opinion
is invalid in my book.

Genchy: I would say that you're colder than a nudest on an iceberg. But somehow I think the reason you're here every day of the week insulting people is because you have been programmed to do so in an attempt to get threads locked/deleted by getting others
PO'd and forcing them to retaliate against you.

I don't know YOU personally, but if that's in fact the case. Then it will likely work against most people. But remember, I am not most people!

 

My post above isn't insulting it's factual. The consoles launched two years ago, pretty much everyone has settled into their console of choice (or both). This forum is called the Xbox One forum , You don't have an Xbox One (ora PS4) but even after two
years you sieze on anything negative you can about this generation of consoles. You never join in with game duscussions or anything positive, but should a thread appear about a controller issue your all over it posting your expert advice on why anyone adopting
this gen is a "minion" of MS and why this gen is rubbish. Why you bother wasting you're ime trying to do this is beyond me. So as I said your opinion on anything this gen carries no weight because quite simply you don't actually know what you are talking
about.
