Just a small question

Yes, if the disc is scratched or peeled off, the console won't be able to read the game. Just for extra closure, you can go over the following steps on your console:

Wipe the disc with a soft, clean, slightly damp cloth. Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom faces, then re-insert it and try launching again

Another thing you should troubleshoot is your persistent storage by selecting Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections, and then selecting either Blu-ray and then select Persistent storage to clear it.

If all you're looking for is to use his gamer tag and saved games (location of last save on a particular game) on your console, then all he has to do his save his GT data on a memory stick (thumb drive) that fits into the USB drive slot on the front of the
console. You can transfer all that data from the hard drive to the thumb drive from the systems menu. XBOS says you need a minimum 4 gig thumb drive for it work properly but I am using a 2 and have had zero probs. Then you can simply remove the thumb drive
(with the system off) and take your GT data with you anywhere. You won't have access to any DLC, but if all your looking is campaign and the maps that came with the game, then this is the best and easiest way to do it. Besides, you should be keeping your
GT data on a thumb drive anyway. I've had loads of friends get reset through various glitches on some games such as GW3 and lost all their data for that game and have to start over as if they have never played it and even cloud would not recover it. But,
all those who use a thumb drive like myself have not had these resetting issues.

his profile and DLC will work.



If he has Halo 4 installed to the HDD, it will not work with your console. To make it work with your console the install would have to be deleted and then a new install performed from your console. Of course, when he returns home he'll have to delete the
install performed from your console and reinstall from his console.
